That said, bananas are also coming into the stores completely green and you take them home and ripen them. Probably also sprayed with chemicals and there, probably, is part of the taste your experiencing.
Gone are the days when you could drive to a farmer for fresh veggies and fruit. Yeah, we have open markets as a weekly thing in our town main street but I often wonder how "farm fresh" these things are.
Let me know if you want some of our fresh organic and I'll mailed them to you....
In Ecuador there are more than 200 varieties of bananas in my country only 50, it is possible that some of the European banana broker, has changed its supplier, the variety of banana plant and soil type, change the flavor and sweetness of bananas.
