these are not my words ! reported to have been said by a philosopher! our"self",the egoist self, not the real "core self" could do us immense harm more than anyone else ! it doesn't like us falling in love, as it's existence would be threatened ! we also, promptly listen to it, and draw ourselves back from loving whom we want, by either disagreeing or even quarelling with our partners !just beware !
