So how does this online dating thingy work?

I met this guy on another dating site, we chat on Whatsapp but everything is just too.. unexciting. I mean, the conversation is just so.. whatever. He would message me first everytime and say hi, and whenever I make efforts to make my messages longer, he'd just respond with a 'lol'.

Sooo, what the f is this?

Honestly, I think we all at some point start to tire to easily. The question is, why? What are we really looking for? Are we using this form of contact to try on people like we try on socks or is this form of dating (for some) starting to replace the traditional means, because we can in some way still remain anonymous and free?

Internet dating requires a great deal of patience. Hang in there, if you want it to work, Scrofa. But actually, I think shopping is still the best way to meet people: "Hi, I'm having a hard time making a good tomato sauce. Could you offer me any suggestions?" You wouldn't believe how long you can stand around discussing a tomato with someone..:) And don't be surprised, if you get invited to dinner...

Lmao at Nike dude.

I've been in the same boat a few times, I just eventually stop texting them because the conversation runs dry so what's the point, it ain't gonna go anywhere so frig it. An I could talk about anything and god knows I've tried with some, but they just reply "yeah" or something stupid like that.
