You know, now that I think about it, many years ago, I went to the horse-races, and there was a guy selling a paper featuring "Jason's Picks" lol

One of my housemates this morning after spending 20 minutes telling us how unlucky Friday the 13th has always been for her decided to wash the dishes in my sink. She got about 20 seconds into the task when a glass broke in her hand and a large piece of glass sliced into the meat of her palm. Blood everywhere. We got the bleeding under control and took her to the hospital where we killed the whole day because many other people were already waiting with their own accidents. Maybe an hour after we arrived her treatment began. Ultimately she got 7 stitches in her hand and we left the hospital 4 hours after we arrived.
I can not help but wonder how many of the people having accidents involving clumsiness were the results of self-fulfilling prophecies about Friday the 13th. They think something bad will happen today, so they become distracted by the idea and instead of focusing on their tasks, their mind wanders and the accident occurs. I say this because I can not help but think if my housemates mind had been more focused on washing the glass, instead of telling us how unlucky Friday the 13th has been for her and her friends, and the accident would not have occurred if she had not been so superstitious as to invite it.
