Being a woman.....
A lot of men act like they are doing a woman a favour by asking for her hand in marriage but lets think about this :She changes her name. Changes her home. Leaves her family. Move in with you. Builds a home with you. Gets pregnant for you. Bears children for you. Pregnancy destroys her body, she get fat. Almost give up in the labour room due to the unexplainable pain. Even the kids she delivers bear your name. Till the day she dies. Everything she does benefits you, so who is really doing who a favour?
Dear men... appreciate your wife today because it is not easy to be a woman

i also do not agree with "pregnancy destroys her body, she gets fat". such statements project wonderful events like pregnancy in a negative light which is totally illogical and unjustified.

It now sounds as if you think you'd be doing him a favour by saying yes.
Maybe I misunderstand the concept of marriage. I thought it was a mutual agreement between to persons in love wanting to share their lives with each other.
For an unknown reason many women didn't like Common-Law and once suffrage gave them the vote, it disappeared as it should have.
