Having Trouble Starting My Business

I have been working to get a business off of the ground for several months and am getting frustrated. I joined an online resource rover.com and waited for the dog walking positions to roll in, nada. I posted on Craigslist and again nothing. I have started putting out flyers and I am starting to think, I am going to have to get a paying job. Oh and I applied to a pet resort as a dog walker and haven't heard a peep.

Please if you have any ideas clue me in. I really wanted this to work out. I love dogs and would love to be able to wake up in the morning knowing I would not only get out and exercise (so I could get rid of the gym membership) but I would be able to work with man's best friend all day long.

A suggestion would be to contact vets in your area and see if you could put a flyer in their surgery. Perhaps local kennels if there are any. Local papers. Create an website. Speak to people out walking their dogs and see if they know of anyone who might require your services. Old people may need you, is there a local meeting point for the elderly in your area. wine

@ Vio - Visit your local SPCA or animal welfare centre, offer to walk their dogs for free but leave a stack of flyers/cards there and ask them to help promote your business in return, they can give one of your flyers/cards to everyone who buys a dog from them or reclaims their strayed critter...... professor

You could also contact local 'dog wash' businesses and ask them to promote and drop off one of your flyers/cards to each of their clients and you could offer to do the same for them, Girl.... professor

Location seems to be your problem, you might consider some other business or move where its more a thing....you might consider animal rescue which will give you unlimited access to many species and many opportunities with specifically working with animals...try calling a local rescue and get the skinny on what alls involved and how you can get started? good luck wine
