Working Filipinas in Middle East can be a living hell,
What a sad position to be in,your a young women, without mallice, large in heart, family orientated, christian woman, yet you have been given no choice but to work abroad to give your exstended family support, life, nearly every thing you earn is sent home, in countrys where, you receive a low salary for long hours, the nationals show you know respect,in fact they think in there eyes your less than dog poop, some are beaten, raped and even murdered,by people that dont have any idea what equality, manners or human rights means, may GOD help these women to return to there homeland safely, one day

How nice of you runningman to expose such a very cruel and sad plight of people who has to go to this experience just to support families that live in even more cruel and brutal existence under poverty.

Question? Are there no protection of these people anywhere? Does UN have any knowledge whatsoever on this situation?

Thanks

lj
Thanks Running man....this is a very sensitive and delicate issue...CS members' opinions would mean a lot to us Filipiinos. @ LJ I'm totally with you on this...
@ runningman1 - Great of you to bring this issue to the fore, Mate but it's not just the Filipinas that are in this prediciment, also the Malaysian people as well.... blues moping .... grin cheers
i agree hans, africans, pakistanis, indians etc
running
It can happen anywhere but regardless a sad situation born out of need and taken advantage of because of this...it is a sad situation...wine
sad but true...
@ Ian...you slow down...labelling won't do us any good. Not all Arabs are the same, same goes for all races. All of these bad things happen everywhere even in Asia,UK or America...There are bad people and good people everywhere. Arabs culture and heritage go way long back than any other cultures...I have tremendous respect for that.
I said so many...not all !.you keep taking words from my mouth I don't speak...its a culture for sure, but the majority out ways the minority..im not saying I dislike them..just dont respect what they do..but then modern understanding in the environment seems to go a miss here...its like live for today..forget what we leave for our children and grand children...still no excuse what they still, and will continue to do for many years to come yet...period.
@LJ...If the middle east didn't have what we wanted..that black stuff..then maybe the UN might be interested..but its a sensitive area..but lets face it..no black stuff..no ex pats required to work here either..when it does run out then we will all go home.
You mean the same Arabs that pray five times a day..then go to Bahrain for women and drink..I work in many hospitals...I see the evidence for myself...you got plenty of time on your hands...go help these people out..your bored at home..do something useful.
Im from UK..I lived around my own..but i don't have to agree with them either..which I don't..I have an opinion, and i see and hear it for myself..im not reading the news papers or watching CNN..im here living and breathing it.
a middle east royal/she beat a maid/florida?had to shell out some cash n hit a plane out of usa b4 arrest, tried immunity route didnt work/usa govt.stall so state couldnt arrest her?!
lets get this straight//they leave thier families to work in other countries/they send it all home so their kids can be supported/they get a salary/theyre on call 24 hrs a day/they have to sign at least a 2 yr contract/theres no money to go home on vacation once ayear/and as part of the contract they have to surrender their passports to their employers/their employers run their lives from that point on/and mr ian has a nerve saying what he said in his wonderful blog where i started this exposing to begin with/ no/ the filipinas are the real women of the world/and what do they get paid? the equivalant of 144 american dollars a week/
At Ian, hello again Ian, I gather based on your experience you do have a very good heart and if we focus on helping these poor souls maybe we can do something for a good change. So let us join hands and figure out a way to make it happen?

Yes I do agree with you Ian, the black stuff. The thing is lately it was discovered that my country has so much in reserve and we don't truly need to use them from the Middle East, which was nothing before the OPEC came into existence. The truth of the matter is the investors and the holders of some of these investments are no less than the 10 percents rich republicans, like the prominent familiss from my country. I read it in one of the Fortune magazine in a very little caption, that they, the 13 original members of the Federal Reserve are amongst the big ones.

Now if the intentions is to deplete their national resources and then they wouldn't have that kind of power and control anymore. But I am not sure, if it will ever get depleted. Whoever has most of that Ian, holds the key for the economic power of the world..

If you look at the latest statistics (wikipedia) US alone is the only qualifying super power of the world today, with Europe, India, China and Russia following..

Anyways, you are right...the flow of money is coming from where the black stuff is...

Thanks

lj
Namaron, Bless your heart, you do present to have a very loving and kind heart, now can we do it in action? On how to help these poor souls?

I am not only concerned about those Filipinas, but all the others in the world who are the victims without any form of justice meted for them.

Can anyone make a movement against such inhumanities? Where is Mother Teresa when we need her?

Thanks

lj
@ lj..

regards the oil...the amount of revenue this generates for other countries in equipment and other products sold here is enormous...so the ploy is use all the oil in saudi...they spend it on cars..goods...machinery which boost other economies..then when it runs out we all use our own..just like the Philipines...America uk..Fracking is another but sensitive subject..but oil will not run out in my life time or my sons...they are finding new wells everyday here in the eastern province...
What is fracking Ian? I googled it and it is the process of injecting fluid on the ground and creates a high pressure of bursting out for the emssion of gas?

So it looks so dangerous and post a very high pollution effect?

lj
And yes, apart from those that we don't know, coincidentally I learned from a very prominent citizen in Minnesota that the oil reserved discovered there in the North States, is well enough to equate to the whole world's reserve. Go figure, and then in Bakersfield area, which used to hold the biggest oil reserve in our Nation (US) has been discovered again, that it still coming out with record numbers of what seem bigger in volume that all that has been process..

So it shows to me, then, that there is no shortage of such a commodity,.So why on earth the price of per gallon is still so high?

Where as in the old days, fuel used to be 50 cents a gallon? I have a picture to prove this...I was eating in a very nice restaurant and my then husband, 1983, took a picture and there it was, 59, 69, 79 cents a gallon. Can you believe that?

lj
yes..extracting oil in a very un safe way..but we need it so we don't have a say...
petrol is $0.10 a ptr here..or in USA terms $0.45 cents a gallon..water is more expensive.
and runningman... really running from his own bloggrin
@ LJ...Thanks!
@ LJ I will as soon as I can, just trying to pull myself together at the moment
