The ideal meeting..

This chap became a widower, his late wife of over 50 years became ill and suddenly passed on.
Some years went by and the mans daughter seeing how unhappy her father was and lonely also, said he had to move on and make some new contacts, in that connexion she bought him a computer and got him connected "to the net", soon he had enrolled in night classes to learn the new machines functions!

One day the daughter visited her father to see he was online and chatting! she was glad of course her dad had a new interest, she was soon to realise he had in fact found *someone*!

The account tells how the widower had indeed found a lady living in canada they messaged online and later exchanged e.mails also.

The widower was eventually sent an address in canada and he sent cards, letters and yes gifts, many in fact,... the online romance blossomed and 2 years had passed, the daughter was pleased her father was involved albeit a senior love was fueling his happiness.

A family friend was attending a reunion in canada later that year and as a surprise the widower asked the friend if he knew where the town was that his online girlfriend lived in, they checked together online and to the mans great delight it seemed about 200 miles from where the reunion would take place, the widower had bought a gift on an impulse for his online love then he realised it was impractical to send by post; the friend agreed to take the gift with him on his visit and then post it further to the address on the widowers-behalf!

All was set the trip to canada went ahead and the gift was taken along.
The account tells that, whilst in canada the widowers-friend had thought about it and in his wisdom and kindness he had travelled by plane many thousands of miles, so a couple hundred miles more to personally deliver the gift to the widowers-girlfriend was the least he could do, besides a car journey was an extra bonus also.

He managed to loan a car from a fellow attendee of the reunion and checking via online message and e-mail the widowers friend drove the 200 miles taking the gift to the widowers online girlfriend.

The widower received a mail from the friend who was visiting the reunion in canada.

Dear Bill.
I managed to deliver the gift that you gave me for your online g/f, I will tell you all about it when i get back home.
hope you are keeping warm its chilly here
best Regards David. G

On his return from canada the widowers friend called by to see him,his facial expression told the widower something was wrong.
Something was INDEED wrong

The newly returned friend told how he another of the reunion pals had driven the 200 miles across the wasteland in a jeep crossing frozen rivers and seeing nothing much but snow and ice most of the journey they had found the house where the gift was to be delivered and had taken a camera with them to photograph the presentation so the widower could see the reaction to their surprise visit.
The door was opened by someone with the same last name that the widower had been writing to and e.mailing, also sending gifts and cards to for over TWO YEARS!

"EDNA" was in fact EDward the name on the mailbox!!!
The widower didnt want the gift back.
