Tomorrow will be the 70th year of Normandee. Is hard to believe that huge Armada that the allies mounted, not even Rommel couldn't beleive such a thing, over 4,000 ships sailing to France's coast. And when the allies landed on those beaches, it was a nightmare, butchery, a slaughter, cruel sacrifice, for the ones that touched the beaches first...Bloody Hell!devil

Yes it was quite a Human Wave Attack. Some of the Mg.42 gunners had earned themselves the highest kill-death ratio in the entire war. Some individual guys had ~1,000 killed I read before.
Just imagine how much worse it would have been had the deception plan on where they were landing not worked doh
Well once they landed those soldiers had to improvised, the plan wasn't working, radio comunication was bad, all around them was a chaos. Planning is easy, to make it work as planned, that's another story.
wave Hello bungallow55, I m someone who enjoys history, not only reading, and watching documentrys , but actually talking to veterans who were there. About 30 yrs ago I had a chance to sit and chat with Canadian war vets who were on Juno beach. They told afew stories about that day, and left it at that, saying it was something they didn't care to dwell on, like you said , Bloody Hell, And oh yes, I did get the honor , of buying these gentlemen a drink.
Normandy is the correct spelling.
