Home sweet home.....
This I'd the first time I celebrate an Independence day in my home country... Touching me deeply....I look back to last year and year before and years before. Every 17 of August, I woke up very early morning, took shower and dress up transitional dress and went to Indonesian Embassy. Never wanted to miss the ceremony, especially the moment when all the attendances had to sing Indonesian anthem, my favorite song "Indonesia Raya".... All were burst by tears. Tears of love, how much we love our country. Seeing Mr Ambassador was like seeing our president. Independence day was becoming the most favorite event.
Less a year I'm back home and today used to be my favorite day for last 15 years, I am feeling home !!
For me, it doesn't matter how comfortable you were living in foreign country, still that place is not your home and you were always be a foreigner (immigrant parasite or whatsoever)....
With all my love, happy Independence day Indoensia.......

Aaah..
MERDEKA..!
usually you only called me from abroad just to say MERDEKA..... ..
I SO love the fact that many countries are getting back to being able to be as they were originally.
As a little girl I'd daydream about visiting and experiencing their cultures. While growing up I watched much get changed....and listened to how it's always the USA's fault and I wanted to blame the USA for it too. Then I started understanding history more are had a rock hit me in between the eyes. And learned every president accept one, including our president, is part of a bloodline of King John who was King of England from 6 April 1199 until his death in 1216. He has been said to have "distasteful, even dangerous personality traits"......sounds like blood runs deep in wanting to take over the world. Not to mention it's a real deceptive way of keeping the control in the family bloodline.
The Magna Carter in my mind.....was just a deception.....
It's really nice to see that maybe....just maybe our children's children just might be able to experience the richness of more cultures.
A ways!!!
So, I narrowing the way I see Indonesia to keep my mind positive, I stay away from politic issues as well as the development process such as infra structure and distribution of funds. I decided to come back home because I'm getting old. My productive age would reach the limit. I change my direction to education world by using all experiences I have. I maybe can't change indonesian mentality in general, but if I can produce few dozens of new generation who know exactly how to respect their time and environment, that would be a good start.
I just hope I won't have too much obstacles in achieving my dream....
Theresa, history is interesting... I always impressed to those who is able to read and keep in mind the history of one culture. Shoot me not so friendly with books....
