A Great Day

I've had a great day today. I got my 2 new hearing aids today, digital ones. I can hear better now. They are totally different to my old one a bit smaller and they beep when the batteries get low. I'm going to have to get used to the way they operate but hey that's life nothing stays the same forever. I also had a doctors appointment today as a result of a letter being sent out asking me to book an appointment for a procedure. Turned out it was sent out by mistake, the doctor didn't know what the procedure waslaugh Apart from a hospitality meeting at work I had the rest of the day to myself which I spent looking round the shops and in the pub drinking coffee and eating a chocolate brownie. I'm not in work till 7 a.m Monday now and it's pay day tomorrow guess what I'll be doing tomorrow; grocery shopping followed by the pub. laugh banana dancing

Thanks for the comment the pub I go to isn't just a pub it's also a restaurant and is part of a well known chain. I am tee total but like this pub because it is so peaceful and where I work there is music more or less constantly blasting out and then I get it from my son when I get home. My 20-30 minutes there gives me a chance to unwind and the brownies and lattes there are lovely. How are things with you?

I'm glad you can hear better, I hope the digital ones do well for you. I have been told it is amazing what one has missed till they got new ones. I love those brownies. Glad you had a great day.

I can hear better. The wind was howling away outside the restaurant where I work today. With my old hearing aid I wouldn't have heard it but I did today. Though I must admit it does feel weird wearing 2 instead of the 1 I've been used to. I do still need to look at people when they speak to me though as when people don't speak clearly I can't make out what's being said. Still I don't let being deaf get in the way of living cos living is about enjoying life. On Sunday I'm doing a charity walk, I'm walking 9 miles and I'm looking forward to it. I'll post a blog on Monday about it, it goes through some nice countryside and near the coast and there is a lovely windmill on the route as well plus it's a chance to meet new people.
