Near Death Experiences

Those close encounters have you had any? In my life I had three
1. A heart attack in my mid forties it scared the crap out of me but I still around to talk about it. I was alone in the early morning before daylight and I just came on me with no warning, it was my left coronary which they call the widow maker and due to technology it was repaired.
2. A motor cycle accident I don't remember, I just woke in the hospital with a severe concussion and cracked skull. Over time I healed.
3. A lumbering accident in my thirties about 20 feet above ground a tree limb I was cutting snapped and took the latter I was on out from under me while the chain saw was operating. Luckily I dropped the chain and came away with just a few scratches.

I guess it was not my time to go or did I have an angel in my pocket.

If you would like to share your experiences I would like to hear them but I won't be making any comments. Enjoy this great day.

Nothing seriously bad has ever happened to me...or maybe rather I have never been injured even when something seriously bad happened to me. Was for instance in a collusion where my truck was a write off but got out without a scratch.
Hi Jojo,

When I was about 41, I got what is called an anxiety STORM. It was summertime in june.. and I was sitting down. When I got up from a lawn chair, suddenly upon standing, I felt dizzy, my eyesight started going gray, my hearing started going dead, I felt my breathing was slowing down.. or stopping. In a quick moment, my eyesight was barely there.. all i could see was gray and my eyes sight was about to go OUT. I stopped breathing, my arms, hands and knees began to go numb. Every part of me was goind numb, dead. I truly thought that was IT for me.

So, as best I could, I reached for the ice chest and got two frozen cold water bottles.. placed them on my jugular veins.. and it brought me back to slight breathing again.. I stayed that way til my breathing slightly returned and my eyesight returned but still very hazy.

I was rushed to the hospital and they found a virus had attacked my thyroid. For a two months after, I could barely walk too far or do much of anything. After about 5 months, I was better and within the year, I was back to being active again. The virus had been elminated by doctors.

It was quite scary, and it came on without any notice. I dont wish this to happen to anyone... but since, I've heard of three other people that it's happened to in other places.

Sorry to hear of your experiences, and I'm glad you made it through.

thumbs up
I woke up in the middle of the night with severe pain across my chest & down my left arm, I'd read somewhere that's the symptoms for a heart attack, after a while it eased so I went back to sleep, that was 20 years ago & it's never happened again, so no idea what it was confused

Thank you all for sharing your experience and I should have taken it a step further and asked if it changed your life in any way. I glad your all here to talk about it and nam I also served in Viet Nam from 1969 to 1970 however not in a combat role but in support engineer battalion. I am glad you made it back safely, some of my friends in my neighborhood served there along with me as a medic, door gunner 2 tours and my brother also served and on the memorial in DC.
Robert I was listening about your father story the other day and how you wrote he served in WW2 in those islands around the Philippines, its interesting I was reading a book the other day called "Fly Boys" and they were talking about those island jumpers in the book, it was classified information for years but they finally released it, maybe you would be interested in reading it but its pretty gory. The author also wrote "Flags of our Fathers" by James Bradley.
