Speaking other languages.
All languages have their colloquialisms and pet sayings.I lived in Finland for many years, and apart from Finnish being one of the most difficult languages to learn, the sayings can make a direct translation seem like so much gibberish.
It needs a good knowledge of the coloquialisms to make sense of the content of some of it.
I have found this with some other languages as well.
Has any one else had this sort of experience?

Hey Tom, how do you fancy English spoken with a combined French accent, a touch of Dorset and German & Spanish mixed together?
As it is said: English is an easy language to learn, but difficult to master!
All the coloquialisms make it so special and you don´t really learn those from books, but from living in the country.
