Deleting my profiles on dating apps and applying for a new job

RE: Deleting my profiles on dating apps and applying for a new job

I congratulate you on your decision. I once intercepted emails between the founders of a dating site. I was stunned to discover that they were a group of 6 civil engineering graduates in IT technology and instead of trying to get a decent job and serve the community, they preferred to profit from the needs and misery of others by developing a dating site. The female customers had to pay about $10/month, while the male customers had to pay $25 to $50/month for the services. The lure to get customers was a free subscription, but not to use the functionalities of the service. They earned thousands of dollars by doing almost nothing, is this the real American dream? This is legal exploitation!
Free dating sites like this are very rare. Apart from CS, I know of only 1 truly free dating site.

So over getting older

RE: So over getting older

Hi Suzie,

Yup, it's all good until you look in the mirror and you think "who is that", lol, but you know what I have discovered this last year?
Men feel the same about them, and the one's who are attracted to us have their own hang ups.

Yes we can't do what we used to and if you are like me, I neglected myself because everyone else was to me more important.

I am only now at 60 learning to love me, yes I need to work on the outside part, big time, but I am okay with my imperfections.

And the next Man who I give myself to will just have to love me completely with them.

Super Simple Superfood: Homemade Probiotic Sauerkraut Anyone Can Make In 3 Steps

Historical Sidebar...

If you're living in an area that was once part of the British Empire - especially in a non-tropifal climate - you're probably there because of sauerkraut.

The Royal Navy discovered that sauerkraut was as effective as citrus at preventing scurvy and could be produced in the British Isles.
This allowed the Brits to explore/colonize regions without having to replenish supplies of limes.
https://www.city-data.com/forum/united-kingdom/2927816-royal-navy-history-limes-sauerkraut-crime.html
So why are Brits known as Limeys and not Krauts?
According to some accounts, the Royal Navy regarded sauerkraut as a military secret that gave it an advantage in establishing an empire on which the sun would never set.

FYI ... A cup of probiotic kraut has about as much scurvy preventing vitamin C as a dozen oranges.

RE: The bigger the cushion...

Lol, love the video added in there.

First every woman is sexy in her own way, and the wonderful thing about life is we all have different types that we are attracted to.

Yes I am sure the woman posting about her 'butt' thinks it is perfect, because for her it is, and for some Men it is.

It's the ones that think they have to change that I feel sorry for, to surgically enhance your body because you think that's what people want is crazy, if it's just for you to have confidence that's okay.

Ps, I have big everything and I am okay with me

Must admit one guy was obsessed with my butt, not sure why not my best body part, but hey, different strokes and all that

What Makes Jesus Unique No one else made the claims that He did He is aliveonline today!

What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

When Paul writes of the wild olive tree partaking of the root and the fatness, he’s simply saying Gentiles are partaking in the richness of God’s covenant He made with Abraham in a spiritual sense. You and I as believers in Jesus, are spiritual seeds of Abraham. I, as a Jew, am also a physical seed of Abraham.

But the important thing for anyone is that they become the spiritual seed of Abraham. Jesus said that unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3). He was talking about a spiritual birth. To experience that new birth, a person must believe in Jesus. And as I like to tell people, it’s not about your Jewishness, nor your Gentile-ness—it’s about your Jesus-ness. Do you know Him?

What Paul is saying is this: Don’t be prideful because you’re a Gentile believer amid Israel’s hard heart. It’s because of Israel that God has brought forth the Savior of the world and it’s because of the blessing of salvation to the nations that will precipitate salvation to Israel in the future!

In Romans 11:23-24, Paul refers to that time when the natural branches will be grafted back in: “… if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graff them in again. For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?”

What he’s saying is that in the future, the nation of Israel will repent of their unbelief and fully embrace Messiah Jesus. Certainly, the misperception that God is finished with Israel throughout church history has created an environment for Christian anti-Semitism to abound at various times. I need only to mention the pogroms, the Spanish Inquisition, and the Crusades to remind us that the Christian church doesn’t have a great track record in dealing with Jewish people.

Yet Jesus said in John 10:18 about His own life and death, “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.” Jesus was born to die—for our sins. This was God’s plan before the foundation of the world. The Jews aren’t “Christ-killers.” Rather, my sins and yours were the reason Jesus died. He took the judgment and wrath we deserve upon Himself. He died so we could live. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Now, what does it mean to provoke my Jewish people to godly jealousy? It simply means to love them with the very love of God. Specifically, this includes showing the love of God through your actions and sharing the love of God through your words. Showing the love of God will happen when you experience and express the fruit of the Spirit in your life.

We all need to effectively share the Gospel, not only with Jewish people we know but with anyone who needs the Lord. We’ve got the Gospel message, which is good to save. We have the Word of God that doesn’t return void, and we have the Holy Spirit, who reveals the truth to people, convicts people of sin, and does the work of saving those who trust in Christ.

Today, may we provoke Jewish people and others to godly jealousy, so they might want to know Jesus.

The Purpose of Israel’s Blindness
Larry Stamm
April 16, 2024
EDITOR’S NOTE: Romans 11 reveals God’s future for Israel. Misunderstanding this important doctrine creates many problems for students of God’s Word in general and Bible prophecy in particular. This is Part 2 of a three-part series from Larry Stamm based on Romans 11. Part 1 is available here.

Romans 11:11-24
After Paul deals with the misperception that God has cast away His people in Romans 11:1–10, he then explains the amazing purpose for Israel’s blindness in Romans 11:11–24. Verse 11 says, “I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.”

Ah, the purpose of Israel’s blindness: so that salvation would extend to the Gentiles or nations of the Earth, as was foretold by the prophet Isaiah. God’s plan from before the foundation of the Earth was to reveal Himself to the world through the Messiah of Israel. In Isaiah 49:6, seven hundred years before Jesus walked this Earth as a man, God spoke through the prophet these remarkable words: “And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.” Jesus, in John 8:12, refers to Himself as the Light of the World.

The purpose of salvation for the Gentiles is to provoke Israel to jealousy. Bible commentator Harold Hoehner wrote, “It is similar to offering a toy to a child who then refuses it. However, when the toy is offered to another child, the first child then wants it.”

Then in verse 12, Paul continues, “Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?” Hoehner adds, “So God’s aim for the Jews is not their fall but their recovery. Gentiles are saved not only for their sake but for the sake of Israel. Gentile salvation is a means to an end.”

In other words, Israel’s fall means salvation for the nations, and ultimately, that blessing of salvation to the nations will rest upon Israel. In Romans 11:17–24, Paul warns Gentiles against pride and arrogance because Israel rejected the Gospel. He talks about two olive trees—the wild olive tree representing Gentile Christians and the olive tree, also called the Natural Branches, which represent national Israel. Some of the branches of Israel were removed. He explains the relationship between the two in Romans 11:17–18: “And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.”

God always preserved a believing remnant of Jewish people from the olive tree, Israel. Olives were an important crop in the ancient world. Although the trees often lived for hundreds of years, individual branches eventually stopped producing olives. When that happened, branches from younger trees were grafted in to restore productivity. Paul’s point is that the old, unproductive branches, representing unbelieving Israel, were broken off and branches from the wild tree, representing Gentiles, were grafted in. This is the cultivated olive tree in verse 24—made of Jew and Gentile. This is the church, made up of Jewish and Gentile believers in Jesus. God has made one new man out of the two. You and I, whether we’re Jewish or Gentile, if we know Christ, we are one in Him.

What Makes Jesus Unique No one else made the claims that He did He is aliveonline today!

What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

God has a way to overcome weakness and our insufficiencies, doesn't he? I have learned over the years, however, that the person most aware of his own inadequacy is usually the person most dependent on God's all-sufficiency. My inadequacy has caused me to rely upon God. His strength is made perfect in my weakness. His glory is manifested through my flaws.

The Promise
Our talent may appear inadequate, but God always equips those he calls. We have the promise of God's provision. "Then the LORD reached out His hand, touched my mouth, and told me: I have now filled your mouth with My words" (Jer. 1:9). The touch was not so much to purify as it was to inspire and empower. It was symbolic of the gift of prophecy bestowed on Jeremiah.

Jesus experienced this touch in a visible, yet profound way. Following his baptism, immediately coming out of the water, the heavens opened and the Spirit of God descended on him like a dove. And God spoke, "This is My beloved Son. I take delight in Him" (Matt. 3:17).

God blesses not the silver-tongued orator, but the one whose tongue has been touched with coals from the altar. God uses not the most gifted and talented person, but the one touched by the hand of God. God uses the most unlikely persons to shake a church or a community or a nation. Never underestimate the power of the touch; especially when God does the touching.

III. The Excuse: The Time is Not Right
Jeremiah said to God, "I am only a youth" (Jer. 1:6). The word youth - unfortunately rendered child in some versions of the Bible - ordinarily denotes a young, unmarried man in his teens or early twenties. Most scholars think that Jeremiah was around 20 to 25 at the time of his call. His reply is not so much revealing his age as much as a deep sense of immaturity. He felt inferior, inexperienced, and intimidated by the size of the task to which God was summoning him.

The Promise
God's call may come at an inopportune time, but he never sends forth his servant alone. We have the promise of God's presence. "Then the LORD said to me: Do not say, ‘I am only a youth,' for you will go to everyone I send you to and speak whatever I tell you. Do not be afraid of anyone, for I will be with you to deliver you. This is the LORD's declaration" (Jer. 1:7-8).

Please note the condition to this promise. Before Jeremiah could experience God's presence, he had to go where God sent him, speak what God told him, and reject fear. Someone once said that when God calls us to a task, he does not give us a road map to follow and then leave us to our resources. God walks with us. His presence gives us the strength to stand in the face of every assault.

What Makes Jesus Unique No one else made the claims that He did He is aliveonline today!

What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

The Promise
God may assign you a demanding task, but his call keeps us going when we don't want to go and are ready to quit. We have the promise of God's purpose. "I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born'" (Jer. 1:5). The verb know has much more meaning than simply being aware of. It carries the idea of recognition of the worth and purpose of him who is known. God knew Jeremiah, chose Jeremiah, and appointed Jeremiah. He was known by name, hand-picked by God, and commissioned to serve. Those acts give one a great sense of purpose. The promise of God's purpose allows us to let go of our own plans and to receive God's plan without fear. Like Jeremiah and Jesus, we need to accept that our future is not our own. We are God's. He has a distinct plan and purpose for our lives.

II. The Excuse: My Talent is Inadequate
"But I protested, ‘Oh no, Lord, GOD! Look, I don't know how to speak since I am only a youth'" (Jer. 1:6). Jeremiah felt inadequate as a public speaker. By the way, this excuse was shared by Moses (Ex. 4:10).

When they heard the news that I was called to preach, most people in my hometown thought the news bearer had made a mistake. "Surely, you don't mean Ricky is called to preach. You must mean his twin brother Micky. Ricky is too quiet." When God's call came, I felt honored but extremely inadequate. My lack of talent was obvious. My quiet, shy nature was a detriment.

I felt a lot like, Calvin Miller, pastor and author. He wrote about his call:

"I was so inferior, even the neighbors noted it and pointed it out to my mother as I grew up. In my late teens, one of my sisters felt led of God to help me get in touch with myself by telling me that in her opinion, which was as inerrant as the King James Bible, that if God called me to do anything he must have had a wrong number. When I told my preacher I was called to preach, he didn't necessarily feel that God had a wrong number, but he was concerned that I might have had a poor connection."

What Makes Jesus Unique No one else made the claims that He did He is aliveonline today!

What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

Make no excuses
We are skillful at the art of making excuses, aren't we? "I don't know how." "I didn't understand." "I couldn't find the right tools." "The voices told me to clean all the guns today." "I threw out my back bowling." "I have a Doctor's appointment." "There's been a death in the family." "The hazmat crew is here and won't let me out of the house." "I have a relative coming in from Hawaii and I need to pick them up at the airport." And, my all time favorite: "When I got up this morning I accidentally took two Ex-Lax in addition to my Prozac. I can't get off the john, but I feel good about it."

In the Christian world, we can find all sorts of excuses not to obey God's voice: "It's the preacher's job." "It's not my gift." "I've already served, let someone else do it." "I'm too busy or too tired or too old or too young."

It has been said, "Excuses are tools of the incompetent, and those who specialize in them seldom go far." Ben Franklin wrote, "He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else." Gabriel Meurier stated, "He who excuses himself, accuses himself."

Jeremiah had every excuse ready when God called him to be a prophet. His excuses are often our excuses for not heeding God's voice when he calls. Countering each excuse was a promise from God.

I. The Excuse: The Task is Demanding
Jeremiah was called to be "a prophet to the nations" (Jer. 1:5), not a priest like his father and his grandfather. A prophet was a chosen and authorized spokesman for God who declared God's Word to the people. We often think of prophets as people who can tell the future. But a prophet spoke messages to the present that had future ramifications. They were forthtellers more than they were foretellers, exposing the people's sins and calling them back to their covenant responsibilities before God.

Being a prophet was more demanding than serving as a priest. The priests' duties were predictable. Everything was written down in the law. The prophet never knew from one day to the next what the Lord would call him to say or to do. The priest worked primarily to preserve the past. The prophet labored to change the present so the nation would have a future. Priests dealt with externals - rituals, sacrifices, offerings, services - whereas the prophet tried to reach and change hearts. Priests ministered primarily to individuals with various needs. Prophets, on the other hand, addressed whole nations, and usually the people they addressed didn't want to hear the message. Priests belonged to a special tribe and therefore had authority and respect, but a prophet could come from any tribe and had to prove his divine call. Priests were supported from the sacrifices and offerings of the people, but prophets had no guaranteed income.

Jesus, too, was called to be a prophet. He traveled from place to place challenging the people to change so that their future in heaven would be guaranteed. Jesus spoke to the hearts of people. Most did not accept his message of repentance, for they did not want to change.

RE: Double standards

I would say, before it comes to legal clearance before a competent court the big problem is also that double standards and double moral applies already in many other areas.
Specially in the political, business, media & information field.

This misconduct implies that many societies are held under the condition of being misleaded by misinformation or ignorance or one sided information just because ruling powers seek to keep their power at all costs and as long as possible.

The second big problem, I guess, is that parties regularly point at others while being blind on failures in their own system.

I went through every single Biden Executive Order one by one. Not a single one changes US policies at the border. Not one.

Stop believing right wing media. They lie because they know you won’t check.

Yes, right now the US has the highest number of people coming to the border in history. However, it is also true that there is the highest number of removals of those people in history. They are called removals because a person must be ON US soil to request asylum. So, when they are refused, they are removed.

I could not find any executive orders that were dictated by the so called elite.

What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

Q&A
WITH DARYL IRELAND
The Brink: What drew you to the study of Christianity in China?
Ireland: It has such a fascinating and complicated history. You can see the dynamics of Christianity and culture interacting in amazing ways. Sometimes, watching how Christianity becomes embodied in Chinese culture and society provides a mirror for reflecting on the ways in which Christianity in the United States has also shaped and been shaped by the American experience. And then I’m also fascinated that, over the last 40 years, Christianity has grown faster in China than any other place in the world. It’s gone from approximately 1 million Christians to around 100 million. This is just an incredible explosion. What set that up? That didn’t just come out of nowhere.

Why China and why Christianity—is there something about that convergence that’s conducive for a digital project?
The length of history—400 years—and the strong record keeping over that time period, both in European languages and in Chinese. We have the opportunity to view this interchange between two world systems from multiple levels, and that makes it really fascinating. We’re recording everything we can, from the relationships that missionaries developed in the 16th century to Mao Zedong and his early work for the YMCA. It’s an incredibly rich body of material and gives us a really good picture of the relationship between China and the West.

What is the data you’re collecting and where is it coming from?
Our objective is to map every Christian institution in China, whether it’s a church, school, hospital, publishing house, orphanage, or convent. Then we try to identify who worked inside them. We use all kinds of records and sources. One of the simple ones is a Protestant directory of Christian missionaries in China that was published annually in the 20th century. That gave us a rich source of names. Other times, we are looking through diaries, or the preface of a book written by a Chinese literati where he may thank the Christians who first introduced him to certain ideas. So, we draw on a wide variety of sources to put together social networks and spatial maps.

Are these sources available online or are you searching physical archives and libraries?
Both. We have been blessed to live in an age where so much has been digitized. But we’ve also had to digitize an enormous quantity of material, working with institutions around the globe to make it more accessible for our team members. While there are three project leaders, we’ve had over 100 students work on this project, and they are located on four continents.

Deleting my profiles on dating apps and applying for a new job

RE: Deleting my profiles on dating apps and applying for a new job

This is very true. I’m finding myself falling into the trap of endless sex and I don’t want that. I want a partner in the end. I mean men are just right there to please us sexually. It’s cray cray and it’s tempting. I had to stop the madness. And you’re right. They are attractive because they think they can seduce us that way. They are right 80% of the time.

Things that reallypissme offonline today!

RE: Things that reallypissme off...

Here in the Philippines they have an app named Gcash, used to pay bills as the banking system is fractured, each bank is autonomous.

A recent iPhone update made Gcash ask me to reregister the phone with a selfie that is within the app. I have tried a hundred times in different lighting conditions but the selfie fails and returns a timeout response.

Customer service is useless as almost all responses tell me to take the selfie and access will be granted. It is impossible to even cancel the account as that requires access.

GCASH is my totally “pissed off with company”.
