This Could Happen To Anyone

I found this one on yutub...

It's not something exceptional or extra-ordinary !!
In fact , considering the harsh reality of practical life this days , I think , it's actually very ordinary ...

As This could happen to anyone ...

No Time to Die - a review!

Earlier today, I went to the cinema to catch the 25th Bond film, No Time to Die. With me was my mother, my two uncles and my two aunts. The cinema we chose was Imperial in Copenhagen, one of the biggest cinemas in Northern Europe.

As we sat down in the cinema, my mind began to wander. "I hope it's as good as they say. How will the villain be?"

The lights went out, so I was about to get answers to all these questions.

The movie is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, and the synopsis is as follows: Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Reprising their roles from previous films, we have Daniel Craig as Bond, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenney, Ben Whishaw as Q, Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter and Christoph Waltz as Blofeld. Newcomers to the franchise are Ana de Armas as Paloma, Lashana Lynch as Nomi (007 for most of the film), Billy Magnussen as Logan Ash, Davic Dencik as Valdo Obruchev, Lisa-Dorah Sonnet as Mathilde and Rami Malek as Lyutsifer Safin, the main villain.

As usual with a Bond film, there are huge set pieces, and exotic locations. Of course there is a villain with his own island, who is bent on world domination. It gets old very quickly, and it keeps Rami Malek's character from being terrifying. He's actually quite boring, now that I think about it. Now, this being a Bond film, there is naturally going to be some explosions of some kind, and this movie has a few. It mostly relies on practical stunts, however, and there is one sequence that's almost near perfection. It's a car chase that starts on the side of a mountain, and ends up in a forest. Absolutely fantastic stuff, with some amazing car stunts. It never gets old seeing a Land Rover Defender fly through the air, at speed!

However, this movie is not without any flaws, sadly. One of the flaws is with the villain. As I wrote a while back, his villain is just plain boring. The Bond franchise really need to reinvent their villains. Give me a terrifying villain, who is looking for revenge for something either Bond or MI6 has done, kind of like Silva in Skyfall. That villain worked so well, because he had a personal score to settle, and not trying to take over the world.

In the end, No Time to Die is a great Bond film.Lots of exotic locations, good looking cars and great action sequences. The real star of the show is Lisa-Dorah Sonnet, who is super adorable. An absolute joy to watch on the big screen.

S T A R G A T E

It's great when YouTube plays full length movies... for free.
Usually, they are online for a limited basis then the status requires login, subscription, and a fee.
Be sure you have ad-block on your browser as I'm told every few minutes the movie is interrupted to play a commercial.

I'm watching STARGATE (again) tonight. I love the music score.

Vikings

This song makes me think of Ivar The Boneless. Dunno why. I don't care for that character at all.

I dig this song though:

It's 5:21 AM - I should be asleep . . .

. . .however, I felt compelled to watch the movie Atonement.

T'was my first time, watching the film, which I found to be heart-wrenchingly sad.

The beautiful thing about films, is when the writer's of the script and the actors are so
damn good at their performance, that it's convincing enough to have you despise certain
characters for their behavior. Makes me miss writing.

I'll be so happy when I can afford a new desktop, so I can complete the novel I started
back in 2010.

The one thing I truly enjoyed in this film, was the bassoon. Gawd, I f*cking love that
instrument. There's something so haunting and enchanting about that sound in a
love story. It's foreboding. It's like you can sense impending tragedy. Wasn't enough
to tip me off what was to come. crying

I felt it would be more like the movie The Piano, which has so much moody bassoon
compositions in it. Now, THAT is one of my favorite movies.

I adore Holly Hunter. She was fabulous in that movie, and so funny in Home For The
Holidays
; which is the best movie anyone from a dysfunctional family could appreciate.
It's not actually funny to be in one, and to experience the anguish of bullshit that those
who you grow to trust can do. No one on Earth can wound you deeper than family,
because they know all your weaknesses and buttons. However, that movie paints
a comical picture of a family riddled with issues, and people that genuinely hate
each other - well, at least one of them does. The writers and acting was brilliant
on that one too.

Eh, it's 5:34 now. I should go crawl in my hammock, and softly sway to sleeping
in my striped cocoon of dreams.

Jumping head first into the horror genre!

I have decided to jump into the horror genre. There are a lot of good ones out there, but there are also some VERY boring horror films.

Let's start with the good ones:

The Alien franchise! The movies that cemented my love for the horror genre! Absolutely fantastic movies, that really deserve a place in history. Claustrophobic, disgusting and so amazing, with some kills that will make you squirm! Collective score: 10/10

The Predator franchise! I remember seeing the original with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and once I saw that sports hunter in the flesh, I was sold! I even liked the latest one, which was hated all around. They are making a new one, which I am very excited about! Collective score: 10/10

The Fear Street trilogy. The best horror of 2021, by far! The first film takes place in 1994, and it's very much a Scream homage, which I love! The kills are brutal and messy. One kill this one made me go "Oh damn, wow! Awesome!". It has just what a slasher needs: blood, gore and a well crafted story. The second one takes place in 1978, and it's very much a Friday the 13th film, which manages to be itself throughout, which I love. The kills are again bloody and brutal. Some might even say savage. The final film takes us all the way back to 1666, where we see the origin of the curse that is shown in the first film. This time, however, it's a slow burn, but the third act is where it really becomes a Fear Street film. My verdict: 9/10

It - Chapter I and II

I have never seen the original mini series, but I have heard it's where peoples fear of clowns began, so when they were announcing they were making a remake in TWO parts, I knew I had to see them both. Part I was surprisingly fun, while Part II was SIGNIFICANTLY more darker than part I was. But I had a lot of fun watching both films. Not as gory as I would have liked, but the story was great. Part I had some great kid actors, while Part II built on the suspense and the fun from Part I. Collective score: 8/10

The Hills have Eyes (2006 remake)

Now this was my first in-your-face horror film I saw, and I loved every minute of it. It starts as a regular off the mill classic road movie, but ends up being one of the goriest films ever. It has everything: From heads being blown off, a person semi-melting to full on blood fest. The design of the mutants is also very good. I need this movie in my collection - soon! My verdict: 8/10

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)

Five kids pick up a hitchhiker, but ends up getting followed by a chainsaw wielding cannibalistic maniac and his family of psychos. This film has the scene that I hate to watch - nails being RIPPED OFF in slow motion.. It still makes me squirm. Other than that, it's a solid Texas Chainsaw film, and it's highly recommended from here. I showed the film to a bunch of people, and one of them got sick because of what she saw, so it's not for the faint of heart.

Now, it's time to name some of the bad horror films I have watched. Note: This is my opinion. You can have your own, which is fine. I will not go into detail about the films, but just list the names of them. Okay, here we go:

Saw 3-8. The first two were great, but it went downhill from there. Fast.

The Paranormal Activity franchise. I watched the first one, and I was bored. It kept me from watching the rest of the franchise, and by the sound of it, I haven't missed a lot.

Crawl. It was hailed as a modern day masterpiece, but my god it was dull and predictable. I was so bored, that I scrolled through my phone. Easily the worst film I have ever seen.

Army of the Dead. Zach Snyder is a hit and miss. Usually, his films are fantastic (take his version of the Justice League, for example), so when I heard he was making a zombie film with Dave Bautista in the lead, I was intrigued. The trailer looked good as well. Then I saw the movie.. I really wish I hadn't. Absolute trash!

CITIZEN X - My Movie Review

One of the Best Serial Murder Investigation Movie based upon True Incidents ... thumbs up

Sometimes it's not the crime or criminal , you are fighting against , but it's the system you have to fight against , which in fact was supposed to protect you from the crime...

And

Sometimes we just need only a few people to stand tall , stand firm , against all the odds , to make the difference ... Never underestimate the power of a single man...

To bring justice , we don't really need a full army , we need a few good men...
