Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway

The film is based on Sagarika's autobiography, “The Journey of a Mother” which was published in 2022. Sagarika moved to Norway with her husband Anurup Bhattacharya in 2007 as the latter got a job there as a geophysicist.

Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway follows the story of an Indian immigrant couple whose world came crashing down in 2011 when their two children were removed from their care by the Norwegian foster system due to differences in culture.

The story begins with "Mrs Chatterjee" moving to Norway with her husband after marriage and settling down there.

The film is based on the struggles of a real-life mother, Sagarika Chakraborty, whose life took a dramatic turn in 2011 when Norway's child protection services (CPS), known as Barnevernet, took custody of her three-year old son and infant daughter accusing the couple of “improper parenting”.

Chatterjee Vs. Norway were abusing their children, and after they were taken and placed in foster care, Chakraborty's fight to regain custody became a diplomatic row and international incident because her children were Indian citizens.

The ending of the film more or less reflects real events. Just as Sagarika Chakraborty regained custody of her children in January 2013, the fictional Debkia Chatterjee is deemed to be emotionally able to be a mother and is reunited with her children at the end of the film.

After watching the screening of the movie "Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway"
i am shocked...

how can this be?

Mere Jeevan Saathi.....

Prakash (Rajesh Khanna) is a son of a rich father (K. N. Singh) who wants to become an artist. His father challenges him to earn a one-time meal from his profession. He accepts the challenge and leaves his father's house. He tries to sell his artistic paintings but fails.

Princess Kamini (Helen) a playgirl introduces him to the glamour world and he changes his painting style to modern demands. At heart, he remains an altruistic person. Jyoti (Tanuja) an eye doctor arrives in Bombay from London. Prakash though a gifted painter now a playboy falls in love with her. They become lovers.

His past.... (a close friendship... but... no relationship with kamini)
creates problems for him. Kamini turns up at Prakash's house drunk and whilst she was flirting with him, Jyoti arrives and finds them together, she storms off. Prakash insults Kamini and asks her to leave. Dejected Jyoti spurns his attempts to reconcile initially, but when he feigns a suicide attempt by supposedly taking poison and being told the reality of Kamini she reconciles. He proposes to marry her.
Jyoti's father (Nazir Hussain) visits Prakash with a bribe and is disgusted with his paintings of the females
almost nude paintings.

and rejects him. However, after seeing Prakash's altruism, he apologizes and they start planning the wedding.

Prakash has a car accident and Kamini finds him and takes him back to her palace. He becomes her prisoner. Jyoti receives a telegram informing her of Prakash's death. Jyoti and her father mourn his death. The bandages on Prakash's face are removed and he discovers that he is blind. She whips and hits him during captivity and vows to behead him. Jyoti is wooed by Captain Vinod (Sujit Kumar), who buys her gifts and says the same lines as Prakash had said. All these remind her of Prakash. To win his heart Kamini takes Prakash to horse riding from where he escapes. He hides behind a rock, and in "hunting" him, Kamini falls off the mountain and dies. He makes his way to the road and is eventually picked up by Captain Vinod, who takes Prakash to his father's house, where he learns that his....

father died a month ago and now has a new occupant. Captain Vinod takes Prakash to his family home where he and his family nurtures him and allows him to recuperate. Captain Vinod goes to the hospital and asks Jyoti to visit his family home, where he has a friend in need of eye care. Before she can see Prakash, she leaves in a taxi after Vinod's parents pressure her to become their future daughter-in-law. She arrives home and discovers her father has a heart attack and overhears her father saying of his desire for his daughter to marry. She agrees to marry Captain Vinod and the engagement party ensues. Prakash attends the celebration, where he is requested to sing. Jyoti sees him
(in the distance.)
performing and
starts crying.

Later, Vinod rings Jyoti and informs him that he is sending his friend to her eye hospital. Prakash and Jyoti reconcile, and Prakash undergoes eye surgery operated by her.
While recuperating, Captain Vinod overhears them in the garden and Prakash stating that he wants to love her not as an invalid, but as a normal man. Both men
become tormented, Vinod that he has lost the game of love, and Prakash that he doesn't want to ruin Vinod's happiness, for all that he has done for him.

Despite Prakash vowing to leave, Vinod beats up Prakash, and Jyoti arrives and witnesses it. A fight ensues, and just as Vinod is about to kill Prakash, his father (Utpal Dutt) shoots him in the leg.... and
apologises for his sons
behaviour.
finally...
Prakash and Jyoti marry.
And jyoti says in his(prakash) ear....

mere jeevan saathi.... meaning my life partner.

this is a memorable
movie for me.... hence
i am sharing this.

The Sound of Freedom

Saw this movie last night, very riveting and disturbing. It is about child sex trafficking. Disney did not want to release the movie which is interesting since Disney is supposed to care about social issues and children. Amazon and Netflix were not interested. The movie was released by Angel Studios and had a budget of $14 million. So far has ticket sales of $125 million. Now will be opening internationally. Jim Caviezel hopes this will have the same effect Uncle Tom’s Cabin had on peoples awareness of the horror of slavery. In the movie it states there are now more people enslaved than at any time in history.sad flower

Best and most interesting movie I've watched in a long time...
unfortunately it's based on true events.

Too late for so many sad flower

Discussing the movie earlier with Mr Know it all roll eyes

On another blog someone used the expression

the lady wasn't too far wrong with what she said.

Anyways, DARK WATERS is an eye opener and definitely worth a watch thumbs up

stock up on the popcorn though as it is longer than your average movie popcorn

falling down........

..........Falling Down.....

Have you ever thought why people fall down? Absolutely, there are many reasons, but the most important one is breaking down the mental of people. In such instances, these people have a tendency to do violence and not to obey the rules. Sometimes, as a consequence of their environment or living area, they face discrimination and they accepted like criminal and guilty person. We can come .......
cross with these people in our lives or we can see them in movies. The movie called “Falling Down” deals with this problem as a subject, and there is a man -D-fens- who experiences mental breakdown in the film. In my opinion, there are many reasons why the man -D-fens- has a mental breakdown...
(unemployed defence engineer William Foster (played by Michael Douglas)

First of all, the world around him is unfair, and he can’t accept inequity; therefore, he show his violent face which is the effect of mental breakdown. There are several incident about inequity in the movie. For example, in the market, the Korean man does not have any intention to give change to him. Because of this, he show his anger:he hits the Korean shop owner, breaks up his shop with the base ball bat, and at the end of the scene, he pays the cost of coke supposing that he does not damage to anything in the shop. From these behaviour, we can understand that he is imbalanced and impatient. Also, he doesn’t like the citizens of other countries. Second example is that, in the golf area, the old golfer said that “Miserable and poor man can not go into the golf field.” Actually, he said this sentence to D-fens. Therefore, he shows his anger again:he draws his gun and threatens the old golfer. As we can see from two examples, mental breakdown of D-fens is the result of his circumference. He behaves so rude and violent that it shows “the Falling Down of one person”. In brief, in this paragraph, we see that the first reason why D-fens’s mental brake down is the inequity and injustice in his environment.

In addition, according to him, the system which takes place in government, restaurants, construction industry is not appropriate one. In his walk to the family house, he comes across with many people who represent the improper system. For example, in a fast food restaurant, the restaurant’s owner do not have wish to give breakfast although three minutes passed the breakfast time. D-fens insists on giving him a breakfast, but the manager don’t care. Then he shows his violent face again, and he shoots the ceiling of the restaurant. This example shows that a person, whose mental was broken down, always objects something around him/her since he/she can’t control his feelings and reaction. Interestingly, in this scene, we can understand that he only want to harm his target, not to other innocent people. For instance, he do not want to hurt the consumers in the restaurant because his target is the system of the fast food restaurant. The second example is the wealth of a plastic surgeon. D-fens wonders how the plastic surgeon can make a fortune like that. He says that he had worked for many years, but he has nothing now. Maybe, this injustice made his mental brake down. In brief, in this paragraph, we see that the second reason why D-fens’s mental brake down is the unfair system around him.

Finally, his unsuccessful business career and marriage may be the reason why he is experiencing mental breakdown. First, his marriage was ruined because of his imbalanced behaviour. We couldn’t know why he seperated precisely, but it may be frustration and be driven to violence by the inherent irritations of everyday life..........CONTINUED in comment section...

1408.......Number13....

Investigator & a paranormal writer who visits local so-called ghost spottings, stays there, and then writes about them in his books to prove that spooky places and ghosts do not exist. One day someone sends him a postcard from the Dolphin Hotel located within the city. On the postcard it reads "Don't stay in 1408" and of course now Mike wants to find out why no one should stay in 1408. Seeing a chance to prove another haunt false, he decides to go to the Dolphin Motel and stay in 1408...

The film follows Mike Enslin, an author who investigates allegedly haunted houses and rents the titular room 1408 at a New York City hotel. Although skeptical of the paranormal, he is soon trapped in the room where he experiences bizarre events.

The room is numbered "1408". Add each number together, and it equals 13 (1+4+0+8=13). The room is on the 14th floor, and the hotel skips the 13th floor, so the room is technically on the 13th floor.

An anonymous postcard to not stay in room 1408.
(Do not Enter.... 1408
Dolphin Hotel)
Excellent story that will keep you watching as it bends not only John Cusack's mind but the viewers...

1408 is surprisingly interesting and lives
up to everything a
horror fan is looking for...

Absolutely worth a look.
