I lost you/I lost me.

People often say that a person never changes, but I believe that's not 100% true. A person changes multiple times throughout their life (if they want to/if they have the necessary motivation). However, the problem arises when the "reason" for someone's change is another person. Let me explain why. There are three main reasons why if a person decides to make a change (hopefully for the better), they should do it for themselves and not for someone else.

The first reason is that no one knows you better than yourself. Only you truly know who you are on the inside, who you feel you should truly be. Therefore, you should give freedom to your true self to emerge. For inner peace, spiritual and mental tranquility, you should be free and allow yourself to be who you truly want to be, not who someone else wants you to be.

Now let's talk about the second reason. If you change for the sake of someone else, first and foremost, you won't feel comfortable in your own soul and mind being someone you feel you are not. Even if the "new person" you become is liked by that person, which might bring some satisfaction knowing that you're making someone dear to you happy with who you are or who you have become, deep down in your soul, you will never truly be happy or free. And if that person loves you or at least cares about you and your well-being, they will understand that they need to let you be yourself and won't ask you to be someone else, nor even hint that it would be nice if you were (if they do, then they don't deserve your effort, feelings, or admiration).

And the third reason (which somehow relates to reason 2) is that if the reason for your change is a loved one, when you lose that person (which is very likely and possible to happen sooner or later), you will also lose your "new self" because with the disappearance of that person from your life, the reason for your change/the motivation for your "new self" will also disappear. However, if the change you choose to make is for yourself, to become a better version of yourself, then that change will be permanent. Because you will always be in your own life, you cannot abandon or lose yourself. Therefore, the motivation or reason for your change will always be there.

And to give you an example, I can say that I speak from experience, not just things I've heard from someone. Many years ago, when I was still young, I decided to make a major and very important change in my life, but for the wrong reason. I decided because I loved someone deeply and wanted to be the best version of myself for that person. I decided to analyze everything that was wrong with me, everything I did wrong, and everything that made me somewhat of a bad person or a person with bad habits. I decided to analyze them all and eliminate them one by one until there was nothing wrong left in me. The plan was set, I had done the analysis, and I started to eliminate each negative or bad habit until only one thing remained to be changed for the better. As they say, I had reached the goal of self-improvement. However, just before I could take that step to eliminate the last negative thing from my life... I lost the person I loved, which hurt me deeply but also took away my motivation or reason to continue the change and remain the new "me." Sometimes I wonder if it was the devil's intervention, seeing that I wanted to become a better person, or if life simply wanted to teach me a lesson. Who knows, maybe it was a bit of both, as they say, 50/50. Anyway, I probably will never know, but that remains to be seen. What matters now is that I learned my lesson and decided to share it with all of you today. I hope this life lesson will be helpful to you, and before I conclude, if you decide to change (for the better, I hope), do it for yourself, not for someone else. Thank you for your attention.cheers sad flower

Education and career decision...

It's interesting to see so many profiles on CS listing a masters degree yet they are working in a flower shop making less than $25,000. Not every high degree guarantees a good job. I have coworkers who immigrated from Brazil and some have college degrees and trained as designers and architects, but they couldn't find anything suitable in Brazil, so they came to America for something better.
My nephew has a 4-year degree in political science... great. He sold used cars and now he's a soccer coach. I question his father who paid for the education... Why did you let this happen?

The Rarest Eye Colors in the World (and Percentages of the Population That Has Each)

1. Gray
Less than 1% of the world population has gray eyes. Different ethnic groups and geographical areas influence the variations of it. How this color occurs is not entirely understood. Lighting plays a role in how intense this color appears. Sometimes those with gray eyes have a bluish-gray or smokey gray tint in their irises. These eyes are more common in people from northern and eastern Europe.
2. Green
Green eyes exist in around 2% of the global population. These are more common in some European countries such as Iceland and Ireland. The chance of having green eyes decreases in people with other ethnic backgrounds. Though it is rare, it still happens. The green color comes from a lack of melanin in the iris, allowing light to display and create the appearance of green.
3. Hazel
10% of the world’s population has hazel eyes, and experts believe it comes from a combination of orange, green, and gold. Sometimes hazel eyes have kind of an amber color, so hazel and amber are often grouped together. People that have these eyes mostly come from places like Brazil. Those with Spanish heritage and those from the middle east are more likely to inherit this eye color. There are several hazel variations. For example, there is gray hazel, blue hazel, brown hazel, green hazel, golden hazel, and even multicolored hazel which is just as mesmerizing as it sounds!
4. Blue
Blue eyes are less common compared with other eye colors; the world population of those with blue eyes is about 8 – 10%. An important genetic factor to remember is that in order for the offspring to have blue eyes, both parents have to have the genes. Countries with the most blue-eyed people include Denmark, Estonia, and Sweden. Like with hazel eyes, there is a variation of blue as well. There is pale blue (also known as sky blue), and the variations continue to shades that are a bit more concentrated such as gray-blue or even intense turquoise. Again, the surrounding light aids the variation, making blue eyes appear darker or lighter.
5. Brown
Brown eyes are the most common throughout the world. People that have these colored eyes make up about between 55 to 79% of the population. The higher the levels of melanin, the darker brown eyes the offspring inherits. Lower levels of melanin result in lighter eyes being passed down to the offspring. This color is considered a dominant trait, which means that if only one parent has brown eyes, that variation is sufficient to pass it on. People with brown eyes are mostly African, Asian, Native American, and have Hispanic heritage. Link: a-z-animals.com

Useless trivia

Trolling through the blogs today for use of a better word i found nothing new or of interest so I decided to post this blog of useful and or useless information.

Feel free to add your own bits as I intend to update this blog on a regular basis.

"In certain circumstances, a hedgehog may froth at the mouth, twist its head backwards over its shoulder and throw a vile-smelling foamy saliva onto its back. This behaviour is known as self-anointing."

World Giraffe day.

World Giraffe Day is an exciting annual event initiated by GCF to celebrate the tallest animal on the longest day or night (depending on which hemisphere you live!) of the year – 21 June – every year!

Zoos, schools, NGOs, governments, institutions, companies and conservation organisations around the world are hosting events on or around WGD to raise awareness and support for giraffe in the wild.

Many people that love the outdoors have personal stories about about this animal. I'll add my story a little later when at home.

The Importance of a Life

Today, I will talk about a more sensitive topic, but perhaps a necessary one for some people. Today, I will try to explain why people should not commit suicide. And I will try not to prolong it with words, so let's get straight to the point.

Firstly, a person should not do it because one never knows how it can trigger the so-called "butterfly effect." That means someone's action can lead to a series of events that may end in tragedy. Perhaps the person who wants to end their life sees it as the only way out of an unpleasant situation or has other reasons, but it is not so.

Even if life is difficult or it seems that the situation they are in is without escape, they should know that every problem has a solution, and suicide is not the solution but often exacerbates things.

On the other hand, God has a plan for each one of us, and even if we believe that our life is ours and we can do as we please with it, it is not entirely true. Our life belongs to the One who created us, namely God, and as I have said before, He has a plan for us, and sometimes His plan for us does not only involve us but also other people. Perhaps in our future, we are meant to save someone's life, even through a simple gesture that may seem insignificant at first glance. Sometimes, small gestures or words spoken at the right time, in the right way, to the right person, can save a life.

Even if a person believes they are not important enough to save a life, they should know that we never know where life can lead us, and, as I have mentioned, we do not know what plans God has for us. Maybe at present, you are not an important person or you believe you are not, but perhaps in the future, you will become one, or maybe you are already important, but you just haven't realized it yet. In God's view, each and every one of us is important in our own way, and when you take your own life, you not only take your life but also affect God's plan for you, your life, and possibly other people whom you were meant to meet, and who knows what could have happened afterwards.

I sincerely hope that you understand what I am trying to say, and I hope that my message will reach those who will need it, at the right moment. Take care of yourselves. And remember that you are important, whether you know it or not.
