I Was Walking Along A Construction Site On A Sunday Afternoon
When I heard A cry Coming from I Dont Where...I Stood There And followed The cries With My Eyes....The Sound Of The cries Brought me To A Manhole(Once Again)With The Manhole Cover Lying About 3 feet Away
I Looked Down The Black Darkened Hole(I couldnt See Anything At All)And Then I heard..HelpMe!..Can You help me get Out Of here?!!
And I Yelled Down..."Why Are You Down There Again?"..And The Voice From Way Down There yelled Up..."Get Me Out Of Here!!".."Never Mind The Last Time!!"...And I said.."But The Last Time You Werent grateful For What I Did for You".."You Went On Your Way Without A Second Thought To What I Did For You".."And The other Day You Came Around Where I Was And Wasnt very Nice To me".."And Made Sure That Everybody Heard What you Said About Me".."Give me A Reason To Help You out This Time?"...And All The Voice from Below Would Say is.."I Promise To be Nice To You From Now On If you Help me get Out Of This Hole"....And I Said.."Are You Sure You Mean What You Are Saying?"....And The Voice from Way Down There At The Bottom Of The Darkened Black Hole Said...Yes!!..Now Please Go Find Some Rope!!!.."Okay" I Said..I Went And Found Some Rope.And Started Walking back To The Manhole...But On The Way Back I Had A Thought
So I dropped The Rope To The ground...Picked up One Side Of The Manhole Cover And Rolled it Along Towards The Top Of The hole..I Placed It On One End On The Lip Of The Hole..The Voice from Down At The Bottom Yelled.."What Are You Doing!!"...And I let The Manhole Cover Go...It Fell With A Precise "Thud" Perfectly And Sealed The top of The hole....I Stood There For A Moment...Brushed off my Hands ....................And I Went On my Way......
