The Bay of Morecambe is a large flat bay in North west England...

A place that has claimed many lives.sigh
More commonly called Morecambe Bay, it is
notorious for its quicksands and rapid tide.
Many people have been caught out here and
sadly drowned.
A beautiful piece of coastline with the
hills of the Lake District as a backdrop to
the north, guided walks across the bay are
popular... at low tide of course.laugh

Yes, a very bad incident, not sure how many
lives were lost that day, somewhere around
a dozen I think.

There was a grand scheme to build a bridge
across the bay, mainly to feed Barrow in
Furness, but fortunately it was scuppered.
