There really is no one person who is meant for you. During your lifetime, you may be lucky enough to come across several possibilities where the chemistry might be right or you are personally compatible or extremely attracted to someone. If they feel the same you may get together if one or the other of you is not too shy or otherwise inhibited. Always depending on the timing being right for both of you.

My grandma used to say that nobody will knock at your door, looking for you, to spend the rest of the life with.
You have to live your life and things will come to you; it's all a matter of the choices you make and the paths you choose, but one should never forget living its life in the process.
How do you know who's the person meant for you? What if that person already passed through your life? What if it's the next one bumping into you at the gas station/newspaper stand/grocery store?

If I had not found a partner I wouldn't waste one minute of the little time I had left worrying about that. I would want to be looking back at a full life and knowing that I had given my best to the one person I am most certain was meant for me and that's my daughter.

I would say that if you lived your whole life and they never appeared, then they were not ment to. having said that I also would say that you have to listen to your heart in these matters and put yourself out there, accept that you may be hurt, and live your life, not mearly exist.

Then you would go out alone. As we all eventually do. But, you should be able to look back (if you get the chance) and be happy for what you did have, even if it was for a short time.
