BebeII: You don't say.....And yet you stated you only wanted to learn....
hi bebe...yes i do want to learn, i want to hear the good that he did do.....the reason i said that bebe, was in reference to trish's information she provided, that he has broken alot of UN treaties that AMERICA was a signatour to...
this is why i say that........
i think what is disappointing to me is the fact, that you guys dont even realise by these actions of your previous government, has made AMERICA just as bad as alot of other countries that are human rights violaters, that you guys point the finger at and scorn....
$161,621,000,000 in foreign aid to developing and undeveloped countries. $1,440,000,000 for school meal programs in Africa. $240,000,000,000 for food programs for the needy in the US including school lunch subsidies, WIC and food stamp programs. $21,600,000,000 for SCHIP and other health insurance support programs. $64,000,000,000 for land conservation and forestation programs. Still listening, or do you ignore these parts of the federal budget? Increased government(non-military & education) employment by 6.3%, or 157,500 employees.

Michael211_2000: He only started 1 war. Though Saddam and sons deserved everything they got plus some, we had no valid justification for going in and giving it to them... and we've near about lost the Afgan front as a result of all the forces we had to pump in to Iraq to stabilize things there! Plus I have no confidence at all that Iraq will remain stable once our troops have all left... so what was the point in the long run?
As a Texan I have no particular interest in "improving" the lives of people from countries which promote terrorism or outright attack us here in the America's... I'm for killing them all and letting God sort 'em out. It's cheaper and faster that way.
But Iraq... well, not many Americans support what President Bush did there. His administration deceived far too many. Even Collin Powel, who Bush sent to the U.N. to push the case for invading Iraq, felt betrayed by the administration once he learned that the info he had been given to take to the U.N. was total BS. That speaks volumes IMHO.
The Bush administration wanted any excuse to invade Iraq. But Iraq had nothing to do with the terrorist 9/11 attacks here, that was Afganistan's Taliban who were hosting, supporting and protecting Al Queda... we had the moral high ground to bomb the Taliban into oblivion and tear that country to pieces in search of the Taliban leadership IMHO. That's where our efforts SHOULD have been focused these past 7 years!
Bush was a pretty good as Govenor to the State Of Texas, but as President of the United States of American I was very much unimpressed and disappointed with his handling of things.

Indyfella: Maybe Rocketqueen can gather the list of countries that supported the invasion of Iraq, because of weapons of mass destruction. It's rather lengthy...
HI INDY yes even our good old australian government of howard and his cronies supported the invasion, i know the list is quite lengthy, but now we have alot of countries backing out seeing as they were misled
BebeII: Better a laugh then the crying we're witnessing now....
I agree! I think what he did while in office will balance out in the end. I hope history does'nt remember him as a baffoon. I support him 100% for going into Iraq and getting rid of that madman and his cronies, but once he did that, I think he should have pulled out and sent the troops after Bin Ladin. I want him more for what he did on 9/11 than I did for what Hussein did to his own people. The Iraqi people should have enough balls to take care of their own business. When our forefathers formed this country, we pretty much did it by ourselves. We spilled our own blood for what we believed in. We still do it today as a matter of fact, only for other people who either can't o won't do it for themselves.

Not to mention the thousands of relatives of the INNOCENT victims of 9/11. (a minor point, I know)

So you're acknowledging that the Aussies misled the US?
