I've never been a fan of web cams except to video myself illegally street racing. If I want to see who I'm talking to I'd rather just visit them in person.

Try upgrading the video card, CPU, or memory. Other than that try reducing the video resolution so that it puts less of a load on the processor.

I think it's kind of flattering in a way, to be asked to be on cam... kinda like your own little TV show. 
But, being a guy we just don't get that much attention from the galz I suppose.
