I was beginning to think that there was an 'Ignore poster' function abd people were, well ignoring me. And that I did not know where it was.

How could any person ignore you? They just couldn't.
I think it would a great function to have. Other boards have it, they have to, you should see some of the brawls I have seen, on say, forums where people can really speak their minds. Amusing, has me looking at the threads through parted fingers sometimes.
Yet, they all have this amazing ability not to use it too often, the ignore poster function, they just know how to have a debate, have a dust up and get over it.
If I want to discuss something, say, something that I know may be controversial, I would discuss it on another board, certainly not here. But we do have an ignore poster button and I have not had to use it.
Bit like having a car that you use rarely, then you don't have it, and you want it.

I belonged to a forum once that you COULD ignore certain posters. When they posted to a thread, if you had them blocked, you didn't even see their posts! That was a nice option.

There have been times in this forum, where a certain poster will start an argument with me & then follow me from thread to thread, posting horrible, vindictive things. If we had that option, it could save some a lot of hurt.

Although on another side of the coin, it does sometimes make it hard when in a discussion or debate.
In a slanging match, which are very gentle here, because of the censorship, it could be useful.

We can ignore members we don't want to interact with, that is easier, so in a debate form, or a slanging match, more when personal attacks are made, then it would be helpful and useful.

See, I think it should be toward the poster. There have been posters on here... in the past... who I didn't have time for their nasty remarks. I would've just blocked them altogether.
