I can say for myself, yes. Not as a crutch. A safety net.

Not me.
But I can see some people doing that. For various reasons.
They might do so out of complete and utter fear.
Fear of failure, or of success. Both can keep people in their shells and refuse to take the leap.
They fear that it won't work.
Or fear that it will work, only to go bad later on.
They may do so as they realy have no intentions of letting things progress further.
I dunno. I'm not even close to wealthy, but if it got to that point I would hop on that plane.

Distance gives us the time to know each other. We will meet.

Of all the men I've talked with on these sites, I've only wanted to meet a handful, so not a crutch but definitely a way to make it easier to get to know someone and discover that we have nothing to talk about without even going to the troubles and expenses (and disappointment! LOL) of a real date.

i think distance is the best you can asked many questions and prepare yourself if really u are serious with each other than to just meet some one quickly and be tempted to do certain things abruptly and remember we are in a global village so there is not distance any where trust and love is the issue

No, I had bad relationships in the past and this site is a way to get to know a person first instead of getting used by a creep or a guy who will never commit.

I think there are a lot that like the idea of logging on and having a fling on the net, but at the end of the day, one or the other has no intention of meeting in person.

Some that is not all. People have met, and have certainly proven love can be found on the net. wine
