caspatch: not only that but you don't have to all dressed up you can dress comfortably and enjoy yourself. not worrying if your dressed for the occasion
True, but still nice to be for the guy to be clean shaved and sweet smelling and wearing his best looking comfy clothes.
mylifewithu: Well then if he couldn't afford to go out, you would still call him a cheapy, Would you be willing to pay for the date then if you really want to go out with him.

Sommerauer71: I prefer to stay home anc cook dinner.
You can tell alot about a man when he chops his onions.
For a first date, I would assume I have been asked out. I would not go and dismiss his suggestion and replace it with, "Why don't ya come over to my place?".
So, as much as I like being home, I think making such a suggestion for a first date is err...

A first date for this lady is always a meeting in a public place with a nice coffee and chat. I don't invite someone i don't know into my home until i know that i would be safe in doing so. Then again each to his/her own....i don't judge others actions...well not always

For me it meant that the guy I call IT rented a DVD with a couple of my girlfriends in their homes when I could of sworn he said he was going to the shop to buy milk
Sommerauer71: I dislike when a man tries to impress me. He should impress me right from the word go, he did and still does, naturally.
I'm intrigued as to why Cougarwoman thinks that a man would be a cheapie if he stayed home and rented a DVD:
Well I have only read this thread up to this post, But my opinion on the matter is this....For a first date, I do feel that staying home and watching a movie is not only a bad first impression but I would think it might make the girl feel uncomfortable, because she doesn't really even know the man yet, and like Ambose said, most guys that would do that are only wanting that home court advantage, and is going to try to make a move almost as soon as the movie starts... Plus many relationships dull at least a little as time goes on, and if that is the highest point, well ladies it your life....
Personally I prefer a "roadtrip". I have a 4WD and the back country of Arizona is unique in my weird head. I usually like to end up at the Rock Springs Cafe in Rock Springs, AZ. it is an old stage stop from the 1800's and they have very good food and homemade pies..
Be an "Old Buzzard", I still believe it appropriate to ask her where she would like to go & what she would like to do..
