I actually walked 3/4s of a mile today on a treadmill without a cane or using the rails. I am pretty jazzed about that.

It will be a while before I am back up and running 5 miles, but I will take it so far.

I am just wondering, since I am not a Doctor, in your case , did it have to do with stress because I will always think that cancer and stress are related in some way.dunno Just curious.

I said that to a former friend once:

'Have faith, my friend, throw away your crutches!'

He did.

He fell flat on his face and bust his nose.

I did say 'former' friend, didn't I?

Arlene,

I was not under a large amount of stress, quite the contrary. However, I was recovering from a back surgery and I pushed to recover to quick I suspect.

I don't know that there is any clinical evidence to point to stress as a cause of cancer. It is not how the disease operates.

However, there are tons of other conditions that stress can cause.

It is amazing that I had probably been to a doctor 2 or 3 times in my whole life and now I had the back injury and subsequent head traumas this year.

2009 is already historical.

I agree with you on the cancer/stress link, Arlene. My best friend, the one with the return of the cancer, knows this is one of the things that shoots her markers up and can bring it back. There have been studies that show a link between these diseases and others with stress.

Doc, glad to see you're making good progress! Keep up the good work. hug

Nasty!

It seems, however, that you have real determination and the head traumas have certainly not affected your ability to write very clearly and well!

You seem blessed with the ability to fight back and not give in to a terrible sequence of bad luck.

I can write, but I sound like I am drunk when I talk. Big time.

I have even had some waitresses comment about it. I had to explain to them that the scars in my head, under my hat, were why I sounded drunk.
