I should maybe add that everyone's support has been highly valued and helpful and I don't intend to leave entirely. Maybe just quit looking for anyone.

Thanks Gilly you're very sweet. hug
The emotions came late in life but there's a lot going on in there, that's true, and I think it freaks people out. sigh

symbolistartist: That's no bad question at all, maybe you should become a teacher?
However in this state of mind... can't really focus on anything whatsoever. I've been thinking voodoo dolls with nails in them... However as this is as rightly pointed out a public forum I can't tell you more than that. I think that could actually be a good subject matter for a collage however I'm afraid I wouldn't want to display it because it would be too explicit and a bit "banal". "The emancipation of Eve" is actually a similar subject matter. What I'd call it now? Hm... Maybe "What Fate has in Store for Mankind". Maybe an apocalyptic theme where only the once who are willing to let go of their old ways can rise to the level of the brave new world... No women in that picture though. I'm not going to be too explicit about why this comes to mind at this moment. Music? Perhaps Golfrapp's Utopia.

I will stick to my collages but I've been hoping to get going with some experiments with texture.

PART THREE

head banger

' WHAT FATE HAS IN STORE FOR MANKIND ' sounds like an excellent setting for your next piece !

cheers

it makes me wish that i was a musical composer now

guitar

by the way do you think that musical composers go through as much emotions as artists ?

violin

or is it a completely different different thing ?

conversing

i wish my father allowed us more scope to enjoy playing the piano when my brother and myself were teenagers because i'm sure that i would have enjoyed playing it more

BY THE WAY DID YOU EVER SEE THE FILM CALLED ' THE PIANIST ' ?

i want to see that film !...anyway i wonder how you could properly portray ' a brave new world ' ?

thumbs up

and don't be silly why would'nt you want any women in the picture for ' that piece '

dunno

what does golfrapp's utopia sound like then ?

boogie

one of the things that i'm really going to miss about my friend dying last week was we were just getting ready to look at music making software to make you own music...he had all the latest software and knew all about it all...but i know nothing about it at this stage

sad flower

have you ever tried making music ? what you about experimenting with textiles sound interesting !...what sort of things are you thinking about then ?

ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU DON'T JUST WANT TO BE A CURTAIN MAKER ?

laugh rolling on the floor laughing laugh

the one about not listening to other people's dogma's sound interesting ! do you find that most people that buy your stuff have the same interpretation as you when you created it ?

thumbs up

i know this is going to sound funny coming from me...but are people interested in ' healing pieces ' don't they come across as too simple for the mind ..so therefore not an exciting piece of art to purchase ?

dunno

you said

" But you know the funny thing is I had an amazing dream last night. It had many fantastic symbols of self-empowerement, for instance it was my birthday (=the birth of something new) but the strangest thing was that I was wanting to sing Ave Maria by Schubert, and that has always been my favourite song. What is funny about that is that my real life name means the same, that is Hail to Mary (Mary being the caretaker but also a symbol of compassion and unconditional love). Oh NO they are playing it on TV right now! Talk about synch... "

now thats interesting

END OF PART THREE

symbolistartist: Turns out that the man I was putting all my energy into and with whom it seemed I was really compatible has been double dating and now decided to go for the other woman. Well, if someone lies like this he certainly isn't someone I'd care to have in my life. I find it extremely immoral to do this sort of thing and have myself been honest about the presence of this guy to anybody who has contacted me during this time. Do men really think this is alright??? I'm still standing today but tomorrow I will probably not feel very well. Please don't make any jokes about this, I couldn't handle it.

Not all men are like that as not all women are.I am sorry what happened to you, but life goes on.You seem a nice and decent woman and I am sure you will find the right person for you.wave

twinself: I also found interesting that you said that "Incredibly, flaky ones who do not know what they want or just want to fool around, are gravitated towards the ones who are HONEST and have their act together!". VERY interesting and I'd love to hear more about that! It's funny that this guy actually loved the honesty in my profile (another site actually) but then proved to be what you say here - flakey and dishonest. Can you elaborate?I think that as humans we always admire traits which we don't have but would love to. So, maybe your honesty/act together character attracts those who are opposite and look at you with initial admiration(them wishing to possess such traits). But, somewhere along the line, when it comes to the crunch, and they HAVE TO/NEED to act with integrity, they are NOT ready for, or capable of it. They cannot face the challenge they are presented with. And you will now become too much of a BIG *thing* for them to handle. So, they back off with some lame excuse.

Or otherwise, knowing you are such a woman of integrity and artistic, making you an extra loving person... makes them want to go in *for the kill*. An ego based pursuit with no serious foundation or intention. I guess they think: *Mmm great all 'round woman, now let's see if I can reel her in*. Once you show mutual interest, they lose theirs.

Bottom line.. no use wasting energy thinking how and why (used to do that myself). I've learned to force myself to get over that b******* as soon as possible, and think: SO be it.. NEXT!
I`ve only read this far ... but Twinself seems to have an amazing insight into this type of behavior - and says it so well too!

I do believe what she says is most true! I`ve experienced all that myself. Am even in a similar situation at the moment, so reading all the advice here is helping me to shield myself.

So sorry SYMBOL ...sad flower and I hope your heart heals itself soon. Thanks for sharing your story here, and bringing all this good advice out of the forum members. I`m pretty sure its all helping many others too...bouquet

Hello Gilly, very interesting questions actually, but have to get back to it all tomorrow. Meanwhile you can hear Utopia on my website (intro page), on my playlists or on youtube - however beware that it's not the live version, it really sucks. I really love music and wish I could produce anything other than some reasonably sounding singing, and I do think that it's close to the visual arts but obviously more abstract. Well, it's about another sense altogether.

Thank you Gangel for your sweet comment, sympathy has a way of helping because as humans we need to feel that we can share. Well I do anyway... however I seriously wonder if people like me can find anyone who'd be compatible enough.

Thank you Smoky, nice to see you here! I'm glad you're able to appreciate all this since it would be a bit silly to dwell on these things to deaf ears... At least people who are reasonably sensitive go through these things and maybe women in a different way than men a lot of the time. I guess I'm in the process of learning to deal with rejection but it sure has a way of making life seem so incredibly empty... I seriously think that's one of the hardest things to overcome... the void.

Ah took me a while to find my way back here. Ok, I'm still not feeling too good but I guess having one of my cats in my lap and having converstations here is not a bad option. violin

Sorry about your friend... ;-(

Ok well MANKIND was a pun. MANkind. See? The future of men, not women? That's what was on my mind. I'm not too worried about womens ability to survive... but men... They shoot each other all the time and do other crazy stuff. Let's hope they don't throw out some biological weapon that kills us off too. And no I'm not a feminist but just like all other women I have my thoughts on the difficulty of communicating with the Martians... Dunno, some say there will be a brave new world. I try and go there sometimes, in my dreams so to speak. Just to convey some hope to the hopeless...

So... healing pieces? Yes I think they are often a bit simplistic and I don't really go for that. It's not necessarily art, as IMHO art requires some amount of control so as to combine the planned and the unplanned (conscios and subconcious).

It's of no consequence whether someone thinks the same about a piece as I do. I'm making art for the people... when something arrests a person it means it stimulates something in them that needs to be awoken. That can actually help them to heal. Hm, maybe I should put this on my site? It also doesn't matter what I believe in vs what they believe in - I have a piece with a cross and Christians have to see it as a cross.... to me it's the three of life and a symbol of the human body. But both interpretations are valid and don't collide. But there's often a moral story in my pix for the smart ones to see. But I guess it's subliminal messages because it goes through their subconscious, AHAHAHA...

Argh, I made curtains in England... English style... would NEVER do that IRL thank you! Did I say I would do anything with fabric???
elephant

Funny enough, I saw "The Page Turner", a French movie about a pianist yesterday. It was ok. "The Pianist" was ok I guess, not a real hit IMO. "The Piano" by Campion was ok too but the music of course is interesting - that's Michael Newman.
