venere08: Dan, you're in Alaska.

Just about any relationship you form may be an LDR!
Dan This is coming from someone living down under...rolling on the floor laughing Only difference is hemispheres hehe JK
I dont think the work long term if your speaking over 1 yr lets say. By then its fish or cut bait... They can work if its a year or under. We just have to many distractions and you really dont know someone until you are meeting and being with them for some time. JMHO But what do I know I can seem to make any of them work long enough to be considered working... help doh

SensualVixen: So true, or some are satisfied with just an online relationship.

that is so true...i've noticed some people seem to get high on the attention.....for me i have
to feel that person, be with her, do things together, experience life together.......long distance
is preventative to forming a real life relationship

SensualVixen: I do have respect for Mindfful for leaving her friends and family behind and moving her child and herself to England, marrying, and starting a new life all for the sake of love.

Proves love has no boundaries, nor mileage restrictions when you go after what you want.

Dan0340: Your post said that you "Knew my real reason for posting". That sounds like you're implying ulterior motives to me.

I can't give you any words of wisdom here, but that certainly won't stop me from putting in my two cents worth laugh

If there is someone here you are interested in - go for it. You won't know if it will work out unless you try. Besides, it may be something that 20 years from now, you'll be kicking yourself for not having taken a chance when you had it.

Thanks, as I mentioned earlier, I wanted to hear about some success stories. If I knew about the success forum I wouldn't have posted. It's just that after reading the 1% thread, that doesn't gove much hope for a guy living in Alaska.

I appreciate all of your replies (well most of you) and here's to us all finding our lasting loves.. wine

dan dont base your hope on the reported experiences of others

me and mickey are both difficult people

so we are told around here anyway

he had never been married and i had been alone for almost 7 yrs

so two really independent people w/ shall we say shells?

if we could find a good match and a best friend believe me anyone can

a lid for every pot i believe thats true

thumbs up

CS aint exactly a place for info...in my opiniondunno

Thanks!

That's a good point.

It reminds me of the bath I took when I wanted to be a commodities trader.

I'd rather try and fail than go through life wondering what might have been..
