The title of this thread is "tired of being a Victim"...well leaving under the circumstances you've described is the victims move. Tired of being a victim? then stay and fight for what you want.

You'll always remain a victim until you learn to draw BOUNDRIES with people, and if you repeatedly let your boundries be crossed, you're no longer a victim, you're a volunteer.
You have people vanished when they learn where you are from. Other people have prospective partners vanished when they learn about children, about sick mother in the house, about any phisical condition one is suffering, about pets leaving in, about unemployment, about ...
They are scammers, not you.
amen and amen.. i've had guys run because of my children.. i've had guys run because of my religion.. i've had guys run off cuz of my personality... it is a never ending story there.. but we gotta keep our heads up cuz if not then we will never be happy.. dont let a few bad apples spoil it for the rest of us

Fully agree with all you said, Sunnn.
Except you last statement.
No, it does not make them scammers.
It can make them incompatible with you,
or knowing what they are looking for and not finding it with you,
or doubting there is a connection between them and you,

I agree. I've dated some nice people from this site, but haven't found someone I was compatible with in the long run. But I've been rejected more than once based on 1-2 mails - and truthfully, I have rejected others for the weirdest reasons.
It all comes down to this: There are only 24 hours a day, and only 7 days a week. I have school, work and friends to attend, so should I date every guy that writes me I would have to become a drop-out, unemployed and friendless.
Have I rejected people based on the origin of their births? Yes. Is it discriminating? Why, very much so. But I need some sort of prioritizing, and when I have experience that tells me that my kind of humor matches the Southern States' humor better than the Walsh - then a Southern States' guy will be prioritized higher than a Walsh person, even if they are equals in all other matters (this was just a made-up example - no pun intended towards people from Wales... ).
Petrolina: Nobody ever gets the chance to choose where their parents are from or where they are born - I certainly didn't get that chance! But somehow I am caught in a terrible web of evil for being me, every relationship i start seem to end abruptly as soon as i divulge where I'm from. Its not ending the relationship that hurts it is the fact that some of those who tar all of US with the same brush are not even better people. If all NIGERIANS, all 150 million of us spread around the world are scammers, would anyone of those who are quick to say we are all scammers survive our attack. Think about that. I know L. you told me no one would think i am a scammer not even the dumbest one but that has not been my case. But I ask, can scammers update their photo every time like i have done more than twice since joining? Can't prove anything, so I'll leave the site since its making me very unhappy and hope that makes SUNFLOWERX AND MYMODELZ happy!!!! If any of you my forum friends still think you can trust me contact me on ogbiko@yahoo.co.uk

Its all about perspective ... Yes no one likes rejection but when is the best time to receive it? When you have the least invested in a relationship. So sooner is better. Look for what you want not what they want. One day you will find someone that happens to want the same and you may even enjoy them without drama... Don't rush things ... All of this is learning. Most of us get involved way to early in life because of many things. Go or stay that's is up to you. Just know that where you go will not change the game... ENJOY LIFE

It is unfortunate that some stereotype others because of where they're from but after looking at your profile and some of your post I can understand why some may have gotten the idea you could be a scammer.
The one thing that really stands out is that your profile says you are in New York yet according to one of your posts, you're not in New York. If I were to see this and then find out during a conversation with you that you were in Nigeria or somewhere else then I might come to the conclusion you were a scammer. This is unfortunately a tactic scammers typically use.
You also have left your e-mail address on at least two of your posts which is yet another tactic used by scammers.
Personally, I don't think you are a scammer and I hope you stay but if you stay, you probably should update your profile to reflect where you actually are and stop posting your e-mail address in the forums.

Thank you all. You all are great people. Sorry i lost sight of all you beautiful people and let myself be distracted by a couple of not-so-bright people.
And, Sparky I really have no problem telling straight up that I am a Nigerian - a proud one too. But even the site discriminates against Nigerians in the course of protecting others. So, I simply used my office's address.
Anyhow, thank you again for your beautiful words of encouragement. I think I might no longer leave. Really shouldn't give in. Hope it still works for me though.
