anyway, prairiewoman, the point i was trying to make here is that "want" and "need" are defined and based on how a human wants to play his/her role in a society. it is also based on whether or not some resources are readily available. we don't feel that we "need" air now because there is abundace of it. But the moment, its supplies are exhausted, we immmediately feel the "need" to supply it. Because we so many men/women around us, we immediately take them for granted. but if you were to stuck in a place where there is nobody, you would probably die for another living human around you. In the end, it is not about US or about our ego to differentiate so much between "want" and "need", rather it is about striking a balance and harmony in this world.
