Can you actually get to know some who you meet in another state .
I have had a few people contact me from interstate saying they would like to get to know me and are prepared to relocate for thier partner .
I am a firm believer in getting to know on a friendship basis and take it from there .
Having small kids may have made me over cautious .

It depends how willing you are really. I think it boils down to a personal decision. I wouldn't be packing the boxes and ordering the truck until a fair way into a RL relationship though.wine

I totally agree with Tina.. I would want to be living in the same state/city for a long while before I considered moving in or allowing someone to move in etc, therefore its all well and good to "get to know someone" online but until you have spent a lot of time in their company on a regular basis, you wont know their true character and vice versa.... and of course until you live with someone on a daily basis for a considerable period of time you dont really get to know their "habits!!"

It really is a personal decision, go with your heart and your head.. good luck in your search!

I think that for some people it works out. I personally am not one of those people.

IMHO you really have to see someone regularly to get to know them, to establish that friendship base, to just sit and talk.

I also have had contact with people from interstate and some have been really nice Men however, i would never pack up my life and move from my home on a whim. People can and do meet and move but i would think they had spent alot of time getting to know each other first.
Wait until You get the invites to move overseas rolling on the floor laughing or, they want to come and live here with You rolling on the floor laughing
Hope You find nice friendships here.

My ex is 'seeing' someone from South Australia...
He met her from another site...

And it was TRUE LOVE immediately!!

(He met her at a time that I thought we were going to reconcile...)

But...

He has met her once... at Christmas for two days...

Been chatting with her since last August...

Knew within days that she was 'The One"...

He is throwing away being a father to our 5 kids to be with her...

I sincerley hope that it works out for him as he has built her up in front of the kids.

AND I would hate to see them get hurt!
