$10.00 is about 15 Swiss Francs .. ok ... here we go.

Well, it just so happens that tonight there is a firework display by the river. It starts at 830

So, I have an inflatable boat in the garage. So for 3.20 Francs we catch the tram to the airport. I have already packed the picnic, and the wine. (it was in the fridge already - be a shame to waste it)

So, you carry the picnic, and I carry the boat on the tram (uninflated at the moment) Then when we get to the airport stop it is a small walk to the river. There just so happens to be a little man with a compressor who will inflate the boat for 5 Francs. (This is a regular thing around here, floating down the river)

So, now we get into the boat. It is about 7, so in an hour it will be dark and it should take us about an hour to float down the river in our boat.

We tie the wine to a piece of string, and dangle it over the back of the boat to chill the wine.

Fortunately in the picnic is my iPod and a pair of little speakers. So some music, and just relax and enjoy the ride down the river.

You may need to paddle a little bit as there are turns in the river and we dont want to ground out.

It is still 19degC so t-shirts and shorts are the order of the day.

Then about an hour in, the wine is opened. Fortuantely I have a corkscrew. Its on my Swiss Army knife!

So, wine. I bought some freshly baked bread and some swiss cheese, and we sit eating, paddling and slurping!

Its now getting dark and there is still enough light from the river banks to see where we are going.

Its about time and we can see the start of the firework display. Perfect timing as we round the last bend to find our tie-up place.
9pm, sitting in a rubber boat on the river Aare looking at a free firework display. hug

Can I just comment here without being tought of as critical? laugh

The cuddling on the couch sounds nice at times, but guys use those words in their profiles so often that it starts to sound like an eternal $10.00 limit to what they like to spend on a date.

There are so many things to do that don't cost money and can be done somewhere other than a couch rolling on the floor laughing

Ten bucks, huh? Well, gees, lol. Um, I would go and talk to the restaurant owner and try to work out a deal of washing dishes. If that didn't work, I have wrote hot checks before. Hmmm, hot checks for a hot chick, lol. Um, We could go raid your refrigerator unless it is like mine, lol. Um, We could get some bait and catch dinner. Hey, I think Laurie's idea is easier, lol.

yep that's my point of the thread... dates and times together dont have to be expensive to be thoughtful and wonderful times...

movie and popcorn night can be fun if it's not regular habit and some night candles are placed around and it's storming out... and you have made a nice dinner ...well you get the pointblushing

I would start with a community sporting event, entrance is usually free.return to my backyard for a intimate backyard cookout ... burgers/hot dogs, campfire ,marshmallows, music maybe toss the shoes coupons would be used probably for cookout
then as nite falls take a bicycle ride to the park by the river and cuddle while watching the submarine races along the river.I think I would actually have enough change to use the public phone sop she could check on her kids and homefront too....five hours of entertainment...under ten dolars....

actually having a date and spending under 10.00 is relatively easy if both parties just want to spend time with each ohter.

First dates is where the creative juices need to be flowing.

I am no gentleman here lol but I can tell you how you can have a really nice date that dosn't cost much.

~Some rollerblading and then a small picnic?
~Flying a kite and or some biking and again a picnic or find one of those hot dog stands if you have one in your area and share a hot dog and soda
~Rent a few movies and make a nice candle light dinner at home (his or yours)
~Go to the beach for the day

I am sure there are many other things you can do. Such as visiting museums, going out to see some entertainment etc...

:o)
