Sommerauer71: As a foreigner, I usually get a good grasp of things, but this time you have completely lost me...
I'll try to explain it for you....
If we were to send a man to the moon today, lots of people would not probably think it's such a big achievement, given the advancement in all field of science in the last 3, 4 decades...
That they could do it then was amazing...
And yet, through all this time, we've been looking for a cure for cancer...
And with all the money at their disposal, with all the new findings in science, researchers have not found a cure yet...???
Ambrose2007: As long as I don't know or like my neighbor, what's the problem? The government(s) know best, no?
For instance, if the government told us a whole people were evil and responsible for bad things in our society, we'd happily herd them into train cars and detention centers, wouldn't we? I know I would.

RobertC2: Re. swine 'flu............. it's not killing any more people than the annual 'flu that mutates each year, but has been declared a pandemic because it can both kill and has got far enough round the globe to qualify as such.......... they waited awhile before officially declaring it to be a pandemic because it's not killing that many people and authorities world-wide have no desire to cause the population to panic (especially when there is no need to!).
It's a fairly new strain, according to the government notifications we had at our school.
Therefore, while at the moment deaths are no more than the average human influenza strain, the unknown risk could become violent and mutate...
I repeat 'could'
I am translating that from German, it's a bit like the old Domestos commercials, it kills 99% of known germs.
Their disclaimer.
The 1% of known germs may not be killed and may not be harmful to us.
But there is still the 100% of unknown germs floating around...
Sommerauer71: Or is it that you truly believe that you have a fantastic immune system that you can fight any threat to your life?
health professionals who are far more experienced about health, our bodies, the diseases that are in the air that we breathe, that I could ever possibly contemplate.
Yes...my health approach is preventive, not reactionary. If anything even enters my body, I can feel it and I rid it using mind-body medicine. And it works. I'm never sick. I don't believe in the ways of western medicine. It's unnatural. A healthy diet, active lifestyle, and not stressing is my preventive approach.
Western medicine has no cures, just band-aids. Alternative medicine is where the future is at. Unfortunately, it's ridiculed by the defenders of western medicine, but alternative medicine is slowly and surely growing.
But western medicine is there, so if worse comes to worse, it has to be used. But it's really primal in my opinion compared to other technologies we have or need to have...so they tell us.
LethalLove: No....not at all...anyone can gaff tape beer cans together, build a bomb that blows only one way, and shove a couple of yahoos in it.
Ohhhhh...I see.... Because any dumb @^%#$ can bouild a roadside bomb, that explains why reserachers all over the word, with untold kinds of money at their disposal, can not find a cure for cancer after so many years.... Yeahhhhh....OK... Get out of the sun...or put a hat on.... Your about to get a sunstroke...!!!!!
