Iv spent a lot of time with Family these past 2 weeks ,and all Iv heard is stories from when my Daddy was a boy or when I was a wee lass .My relatives think wool gathering is a sin without a tod ,so the drinks were passed freely and they stayed up till the wee hours telling us stories .

So ,my question to you guys is ,whats your story ? how far back do your memories go and whats your earliest ?

I can remember some of my time as a young child in East Africa, but mainly the experience of snow the first time I saw it, at about 8 years of age, getting up and seeing it all white outside, I had no concept of snow, so ran outside in my pjs and bare feet, stopped after about 5 feet and burst out crying as my feet were so cold lol.
I love when my father and Uncle talk about their war experiences, it never fails to amaze me what incredible feats of bravery were carried out by such a vast group of people.
Great pic by the way

The earliest thing I remember was when I was little. We had the old cast iron radiators, and were working on the heating system. I knocked one over on my foot. Broke it. I was maybe two?

I remember daydreaming, and carrying a crayon and a notebook Around with me. I scribbled something on the paper, andmy grandaddy said what is that, I said my book. I proceeded to read to him. Even though I could not spell, I told him a story and he looked at his wife, and said. I bet she turns out to be a writer.

My earliest time in my my life that I remember
is when I was 5 or 6 years old;I remember playing
in grass taller than I was;I never forgot the fun I
had as I ran and hid from the other kids. When I think back on that,it brings me to a realization that I'll always be
a kid at heart.

Ouch ,sounds bloody painful .Those things are heavy as I still have them In my house in London .

Does anyone remember tea cozies ? My sister was mad about the 'kettle hat' and pulled it off when my ma was boiling the kettle .The kettle tipped all over me and I got flung in a cold shower .Still have some scarring today .Whistle kettles are what I use now ,although the noise drives me potty roll eyes

I remember my father cutting wood, playing in the sawdust and thinking how wonderful it smelled. He passed when I was 7.
