I had fresh, grilled sardines and a huge mixed salad, followed by a teeny weeny slice of strawberry cheesecake.

wave That sounds nice and healthy! Sardines from the sea? I mean caught recently in the sea? In SA there is a mad scramble for sardines when they come up the coast in massive shoals, and they quite large when they reach that East coast - sometimes you can just wade into the breakers and gather baskets of them!

... Today, I had my home-made Humus on crackers .....Now no self-respecting `flu virus would come anywhere near me!.... I put too much garlic in it! Actually NO-ONE comes too near me!

That's how it used to be in the Bahamas, but somehow became a thing of the past, even though there is no commercial Sardine Fishing going on.Probably getting overfished elsewhere.uh oh

Yes freshly caught, and not only for health reasons, I just love sardines.

I can buy them fresh on a daily basis if I want in the local market, along with other types of fish.

The strawberry cheesecake I had for dessert wasn´t too healthy though! sigh

Garlic..yummy! I have it with almost everything I eat.

The Mediterranean diet is the best.

grin Whenever I meet a new guy I have to ask if he eats garlic! Usually people say yes ..... but they eat it cooked into their food ... not RAW! Beeeeg difference! I reckon no self-respecting Vampire (or anyone else for that matter) would come near me.....rolling on the floor laughing

By next week I should know how good it is for self-defence against this `flu I`m surrounded by!

Sardine Season is a big tourist industry on the Natal South Coast in South Africa. Every year there is this big Question... Will they come? or not?

The fishermen there have a lore about it .... If the Aloes on the beaches have flowered before the sardines expected arrival, they are NOT coming (despite any reported sightings). And if the Aloes have NOT flowered - they are waiting for the sardines! (and they WILL arrive).

Every year that fishermens belief worked! Only as the sardines arrived would the Aloes burst into flowers! Strange hey?

I´ve had colds, but never full blown flu since I moved to Spain. I am sure the garlic must have something to do with it. laugh

I hate garlic breath though. laugh

CYBAHIPPY!
You survived! Where you bin all dis time? You in the army now?

Yes, please, this place is in dire need of a good pub, like your last one. You were the best bar-owner this place ever had. But I guess you just gonna go off and vanish again, huh, like you usually do?

The CS witches coven have no meeting place anymore either! We used to love parking our brooms on the roof of your pub.....
