Why would they need to other countries ? They believe the Earth is named USA. Other countries ? Oh should be that small stars in the sky, to far away to travel too...

What could I add, everything has been said before...

Not sure about tourists but in Vietnam and in other Asian countries I've been too such as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan etc I've met far more businessmen coming from US than other countries.

Scubadiva: ... because it takes 30 minutes for an Irish person to go to "another country". If you stop and think for a minute, consider that the US is bigger than Europe...
It can be as far as 3,400 miles, depending on your destination of a direct route across the U.S.
As others have stated, we have so much here to see and do, that most do not have need of passports. I have traveled 48 states and Canada and been to the boarder towns of Mexico. No passport was needed. It has been most enjoyable and a great learning experience. I would love to travel abroad, but it is expensive to fly. Here, we can drive everywhere.
The most beautiful site and my favorite in the U.S., is driving thru the gorge in North Carolina this time of year, when the leaves are changing color.
The most breath taking and awesome site of course was the Grand Canyon, indescribable beyond words.
And my favorite back woods place to live, the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.
I have sailed in underground rivers and lakes, toured caverns, been to Disney World, Sea World, Cypress Gardens, Viewed Mt. Shasta, Lake Tahoe, Eaten sea food in fine restaurants on both coasts, Been all over New York City (used to give tours), Been to the Alamo and Riverwalk in San Antonio, ate boiled peanuts and peaches in Georgia, bargained in the market places in Mexico, and did my best to get directions from a frenchman in Quebec Seen and done so much more than I could ever list here. It's a vast and beautiful land!!!
why don't americans travel as much? well, the answer is, i think they are just not good at finding out the direction. Besides, the problem is that there is no google map for the arial route. what we going to do if we get lost up in the sky?

Which 'other country' is it that you are referring to that is only 30 mins away from us?
How about England? or are you part of "Great Britain"?
