dgcraneman: I'm Canadian & was wondering what all the fuss is about government health care in the US.Can someone fill me in on the resistance to this idea.
YES!!!!!!!!!
We DON'T need the damn government telling us what we need and what we don't need.
i think the health care issue. is about the poor in America. sounds like to me the republican party. don't care about the poor. that's why the poor never vote republican.

ANd they are all to stupid to realize the Dems are also politicians and will lie like hell to get the vote so they can control everyone.

Yep... those who "can".. we DO.. those whom "cannot, will not, have not"... whine and expect the government to give, tell, and baby them for their lack of ambition.. I pay MY OWN way... Need NO one to tell/give me anything.. If I'm paying for it.. I can get it as I want it.. Like going into a resturant and them telling YOU what you will eat, how it will be cooked, and how much you can have.. Yeah... that's something I want... ---SoldierByte---
we had one in office who said god told him to attack Iraq. first i know god would never tell anyone to kill someone. but i know you will say that's in the past.
well this coming from someone who vote for bush. people in glass houses should not throw stones, remember 9/11 bush sit in a classroom for 7 minutes. doing nothing.

I'm hardly poor, yet $800 or more a month just for health insurance premiums is too big a chunk of my monthly income... I could be buying a 2nd house for that much a month! $200 or so a month I could and would pay gladly... but that's not where health insurance premiums are at these days and they're only going higher.
So I haven't had health insurance now in 4 or 5 years. What am I supposed to do, just die if I get sick?
My mother is just barely managing to make a $1200 a month health insurance premium now (5 years ago it was only around $600), and if it keeps going up (and that's what it's doing!) what then?
You don't have to be poor to be unable to afford health insurance or health care in this country, and there'in lies the problem.
I'm paying more and higher taxes than ever before this year, yet what do I get for that money? Hundreds of Billions in foreign aid given to other countries? Oh that's just Prime!
You who are so angry at the thought of Americans being given anything, why is it ok to give Billions to Pakistan and India and Israel, 100's of Millions to The Palestinians, but not insure there is affordable accessible health care for every American citizen? I think you guys have your priorities all messed up!
Why do we give so very much money to countries that can afford active nuclear weapons programs, yet I'm told we can't afford health care reform? Come'on, explain this to me I'm all ears!

I'm not sure that's accurrate or fair even.
What was he supposed to be doing huh? Wave his hands like wands and make it all go away? Be realistic with your criticism!

Well, I really don't see how universal healthcare can measure up to the benefits of bombing hundreds of thousands of individuals into oblivion.
We DON'T need the damn government telling us what we need and what we don't need.
see, here in CA,I can go to whoever I want to,as long as they are accepting new patients.I`m lucky,I don`t see the doctor often tho,I`m pretty healthy(maybe once every 5 yrs or more). My gover. doesn`t tell me what I need,my doctor does.I have a drug plan at work,so any perscripts my family needs are likely covered & it doesn`t cost much($52 per month).
What do you mean by `the damn government telling us what we need...`

Same here..we are covered in job about 84 a month for the 3 of us..
ukrainegary48: if the republicans were not taking bribes from the insurance companies. we might have lower bills.
The Republicans. HELLO the correct word to use there is POLITICIANS. It doesn't matter what party they are affiliated with. Politicians are all crooked. I am surprised that it isn't written in the dictionary. Thief : Noun :Politician Liar : Noun :Politician ect.
