I take care of other people's children for a living. I love it because it all starts with the care they get from me. Every child I have had in my care I have had them at eight to nine weeks old. Some of these kids are with me 12 hours a day. five days a week. In my neighborhood I am needed. Sometimes the only good meals they get are with me, sometimes the only outdoor activity they get are with me. I have taken kids to the beach, and museums... just because I wanted to see the looks on their faces. They leave me and go to kindergarten, and I rarely see them again.
But when they are old enough they always manage to find me, and sometimes they ask me to do daycare for their children. I love my job.

and Hello, to you.
non-medical. i'm like a companion, not like the ones you see in hospitals snoozing in an arm chair when they are supposed to be watching a client.
i'm a senior caregiver, i remind those that need it to take meds on time, if they have hobbies i provide encouragement and aid (if needed) in continuing that hobby. i'm their personal cheerleader, shoulder to cry on, a new friend to share old memories with, even a new 'student' to teach old intrests too. i'm a reliable friend to go out and lead a life with, i have coffee at a cafe with some in the early hours, gossip with others at salons, complain about the increasing prices of groceries with others. i don't 'mother' them, they lead and i follow. i love every one of my clients like family and they dont introduce me as their 'aid', which gives me a deep sense of happiness. One calls me her 'other daughter' most call me their friend and that's just how i feel.
I used to work for a Veterinarian that bought us breakfast and lunch, vaccinated and spay/neutered our animals for hardly nothing, sent us to the grocery store to get snacks, and let us bring ALL our animals to work. He couldn't get rid of us.Oh yeah...he supplied us with drinks all day too. I cried when he retired. I knew I would never have it that good again.
