Grown men can learn from very small children for the hearts of the little children are pure. Therefore, The Great Spirit may show to them many things which older people miss.......Black Elk
Thanks Dave, You made my day. Hot chocolate was good. Now I hear the band playin'. A little too much hot chocolate ya think. Oh hell, pass me another cup. Need some energy.
Hi Dave, Nice to see a familiar face so early in the morning. That was Martin, So.Dak. in Bennett County. Have many stories I could convey from that time in my life. Just between the two reservations. Went to many POW-WOWS. What a beautiful sight.
So is that around the black hills i love goiong over there for sturgis it is a hoot. But I also like to just go around and see all that there is. Really cool place.Lots of caves and other places to see.Dave
Dave, You really rock man. Not far from the black hills at all. My grand-kids just brought pictures back that they took at Wind Cave. I love the badlands, so many beautiful hues depending on the time of day. Sturgis bike rally? Oh yeh, don the leather and rock on baby.
Siren, Good morning. On my 3rd cup of coffee. I just may post some of those stories in the near future. Only attended one Sundance Ceremony before they quit letting the public in. A sight of nothing but rare courage and one I will never forget. I love the Native American music. There seems to always be a story in their music. Linda

Dan Rather once interviewed a 106 year old man and wanted to know his secret to long life. The old man rocked back and forth in his chair before answering. Finally he replied, " keep breathing. "
lol
Sure, growing older is stressful, but using your sense of humor to subdue that kind of stress works wonders. When you hear snap, crackle, pop, and it isn't your cereal dont panic. Laughter defuses insults, soothes aching muscles and counteracts the humiliation of what is happeneing to our bodies and minds.
There are ways to develop thinking about our physical limitation as we age. After a lifetime of straining to be " the perfect perky ideal, " finally the females breasts can relax. lol. And the extra weight around the middle is just cuddlier body lines.
So as birthdays come we should not think of ourselves as growing old; we are reaching that vibrant metallic age: silver in our hair, gold in our teeth and lead in our bottoms.

I am cranky
Bones are creaking
Nose is leaking
Knees are snapping
Brain is napping
Pain in shoulder
Getting boulder
Toenails toughen
Breath is puffin'
Sights' appalling
Hair is falling
Can't remember
Last September
Mem'ries going
Nose ain't blowing
Now it's dripping
Heart is skipping
Sometimes heart is quick'ning
Veins are thick'ning
Pill box beeping
Friends are sleeping
While I am talking
Limp when walking
Hearing's failing
Thyroid's ailing
Hairs grow in
On cheek and chin
Head is hurtin'
One things certain
Age is showin'
I'll keep goin'
It's a song
That must be sung
Body's old
But Spirit's young
