i just saw an add on front of the paper today, i didnt read it all. my point is that the man who everyone is celebrating is a nutjob!!!

Losty: If you didn't buy a licence, there would be more shows from the likes of Pat Kenny that would be populist and cheap to air. RTE would just drop a lot of the sidelines (Like the RTE Orchestra, religous services and minority shows from it's schedules and end up as TV 3 or Today FM in terms of output. Media always tends to dumbs down when budget are tight, regardless of how it gets to the public. In fact, Frontline is on air now as it's cheaper to make than Question Time was.

Question and Answers (Not QT, my mistake) sometimes toured Ireland and had to bear running costs involved with Outside Broadcasts; it also required more panel guests and came from a larger studio than Frontline and hence less production costs.
