Why is it that SOME always say,"I want"? Why must we always have a want?Don't we have to work at things to actually get what we want? As an example, love is not given to us on a silver platter; we love and are loved because we work at it.
Anyone up for a discussion, please post. If not,go get what you want, than come back and tell us what you've achieved.

Better to have a need. maybe... far more fullfilling when you achieve it !
better to give then to stand around crying i want if you give love it will be returned, set goals to work at when you have reached them set more i did that all my life and have had good results

I kind of agree, but it's rather too simplistic to talk about love and goals in the same sentence..... love is not a goal that you can put a deadline on achieving or even a level of love achieved.
And just because you give love, does not mean it will be returned... you can't make someone love you.... no matter what your goal is !!

Real happiness is "wanting what you get", if there's no wind, then row, if life gives you lemons make lemonade, that sort of thing. My personal favorite (or one of them) is " A ship lies safely in the harbor. But..that is not what ships are made for".
yes, we have to work at things to get them. Hope this helps.

Partner ships Friend ships Relation ships
Get on board the ship you want and get out the harbour !!
I believe the majority all wish for the same things regarding love, (comfort, thoughtfulness, trust, compassion, etc...), but the way we say or express it is down to laziness with language & the things we hear in everyday life.
When you buy food how often do you hear 'Do you want fries, juice (pop), with that..' or 'do you want that to go', etc.. rather than asking 'which drink would you like' or 'do you require any assistance?', etc...
Manners are also being lost as I forget how many times I hear children stating 'I want that or this' rather than 'please, can I have this'. There is without doubt though, those who display perfect manners.
However, as Englishman says, we all want and have a need for being loved. I feel the word 'want' in regards to love is displaying too much of a need/desperation, but it also depends on the other things they say, both on forums and their profile.
Totally agree that both parties must work at it for any chance of success, long-term.

I think wants and needs are confused sometimes, we want something so badly that we think we need it. We should be happy with what we have but that is not always the case.
I do think we should have something in ourselves that strives to help us achieve our goals of finding love and being prepared to accept the love of another if it is given to us but I don't think we should "whine" about not having it. JMO

I talk about that all the time the difference between wanting and needing. For instance, you want a new pair of Jeans, you have 10 already, you do not need a new pair.
