Ahhhh, and one of my favorite songs about the sea is "Somewhere Beyond the Sea"...Bobby Darin's original and even Robbie Williams' remake....love them both.
Thalassa: I've changed my username finally. My previous name (initials and numbers) just wasn't the best for the forums, so I chose a new name. It's not easy to find one that seems to fit, but I finally selected a word that means something to me....Thalassa. Thalassa means "sea" and I do love the sea. And although this word may not be familiar to many of you, you might find it ultimately easier to remember than what I used in the past.
Thalassa: I was just leaving, but I saw your post and thought I should reply. Yes, I agree....the sea does connect us all. And I just love to look at it. There is a picture on my profile page of my son kissing me on my cheek...in the background, you can see the beautiful sea below us. The color in some regions is just so incredibly beautiful...a turquoise color, almost, and it just takes my breath away when I am driving and I round a curve and there it is....it appears as if by magic and it just beckons me to come closer. I will miss these beautiful drives when the day comes that I will have to leave Greece (another year yet).
I have two homes by the sea....... the sea brings peace to my, at times, troubled soul.
To hear the sea murmering and gently lapping in the summer or crashing against the rocks in the winter - it always makes me feel 'connected'.
