wulfen: Ah and here I was thinking you were extolling France's virtues just from a pure love of the country!

I like Sarkoland, it's the French who are the problem...

I lived in Calgary a dozen years ago, nice city, clean, and close to the Rockies. I'm now about 4 1/2 hours north, but leaving as soon as my house is sold.Anybody want to adopt a semi homeless Canuck? Someone in a warm country preferrably.

Are you house trained?

wulfen: Jan, I was responding to that woman who had moved to Gozo.

Re-the height theory, my point wasn't about any racial discrimination, it's a fact that people who have lived for generations in warmer climates tend to be shorter, and those who have lived for generations in colder climates tend to be taller.

I'll make a case in point, when a few months ago the Maltese national football team against Denmark, our tallest defender who by Maltese standards is quite a big guy, was only as tall as the shortest Danish player.

It's also something that the Maltese football team suffers from when playing against Scandinavian sides, the height difference means we rarely win any headers against them.

It's really annoying when the pc brigade seem to take offence at anything you know.

Well, to quote a line from the comedy movie 'Bedazzled', "German, French, Italian? Who needs that? Ja ja, oui oui, si si, everyone speaks English, and if they don't, they should" rolling on the floor laughing

This was meant as a joke by the way grin

marisata: This is so funny - 'Sarkoville'
But one indeed needs to speak fluent French to enjoy France...
:-) The French do speak English, but for some unexplainable reason won't speak it when talking to a visitor...

Hm, yes. Domesticated is good... that means you know that dishes don't do themselves, and that clothes from time to time need to go in that water-filled machine which spits them out all nice and clean, right? grin

So, how's the house-selling going? conversing
