RobertC2: I also note that the lady being condescending to me has not as yet stated her vast medical qualifications that make her such an expert on the subject!
Robert, if you are refering to me, and I can only assume you are, I am not sure why you are saying these things. You seem extremely defensive, and we have got off track from the thread topic.
This is not a thread to discuss your mental health. Again.
venere08: Robert, this is a singles site. A dating site.
Yes, I made statements about what I know to be in the marketplace. There are doctors here who do support patients taking natural St John's Wort over other types of anti-depressants. I fully support people who choose to take other forms if it works for them. Oh, and knowledge of psychopharmacology is no way restricted to psychiatry. They are simply one type of specialist applying the drug products in the marketplace. This is not the forum to elaborate.
And just as a reminder to you, to my knowledge, there has never been a double blind study for aspirin, yet it has been prescribed for years by heart specialists to their cardiac patients. No evidence at all for its benefits, yet it continues to be prescribed.
Remember, high horses can be dangerous. You can fall off and hurt yourself. And then the libido will suffer, cos you will be in too much pain!!!
You still refuse to give your professional medical qualifications. The end.
Many pharmaceutical products as well as alcohol can at least temporarily disable a man's ability to get there stay, there, and (do I have to spell it out?) so avoid too much drinking before going there. As far as robert's questions and comments re" pre-you know whatting, (s i g h ) here we go. Now Robert, it's like this, you (or someone else) take the thingamajig and whatchamucallits and spend some time you-know what i mean ing but not too quickly and you should end up being a happy camper. Got it?

It's not a thread to discuss double whatever tests on aspirin either.......... quit being so smarmy.
It IS a thread discussing anti-depressants and I take them and I can discuss their effects........ don't tell me what I can and cannot write.
RobertC2: Thanks.... I accept that venere is a good person and 'works in the field' in some capacity, but i honestly don't believe she is a qualified psychiatrist and that her 'expertise' is more from her own personal experience rather than some recognised PSYCHIATRIC official qualification.......... she's probably more of a person who helps people in an indirect way but takes a genuine interest as it effects her patients and how she herself deals with them.
I don't know as she seems reluctant to make clear her 'expertise'.
I really did not like her attitude to me......... I am a patient and I obviously want the best advice and treatment possible and I am always open to new possibilities of making my life mor sane and my behaviour more acceptable.
I refuse to be talked down to though!
As I said, Robert, this is not the forum for advice on your own mental health.
I say it again. This is a dating site.
I am sorry you feel talked down to.
I thought I was sharing information about St John's Wort, stemming from the thread topic. You seem hell bent on having this thread become a forum for discussion of your psychiatric problems. You have been pulled up by others in the past.

Yeah!
That made a whole lot more sense than double blind tests on aspirin!

It (St John's Wort) is the preferred anti depressant in Europe and England, because it has the same effect as lab anti-depressants, for mild to moderate depression, without harmful side effects.
As with all things, quality is key. To make a blanket statement like that Robert is not wise, without backed up evidence.
I do know that literature reports that St John's Wort is contraindicated for use with certain pain relief medication.
Yes indeed.
St. John's Wort raises the Seratonin level without blocking reuptake.
SSRIs actually cause Seratonin depletion and deepen depression over time. What's more increased seratonin isn't really "happiness", it's just the absence of emotion.
And emotion is the very basis of a person's being.
