No, I haven't. But with a name like that, I can't imagine you would be disappointed.

How long are you in Tassie for? Such a pretty place overall. I have wonderful memories of hitch hiking with a G/F back in '75. I was only 21. help But we had a couple pick us up in Bicheno...(now there's a gorgeous spot, it was unspoilt beach then, watching the sun rise over the ocean was magic!)and they took us to their 2-storey home in posh part of Hobart on the River, gave us their house keys, and even loaned us clothes to wear for the casino. Another person, a young man, picked us up from Devonport and he was on his way to his parents' farm for Sunday lunch. He took us along(!), and we had a most delightful Sunday roast with fresh strawberries and farm fresh cream!!! smitten laugh

They say that Cradle Mountain is worth visiting, but I have never been.

cheers:

Heck, it just about snows in February there9!), so June should see full on snow!

Wow, 12 days sounds absolutely heavenly.

You know where I think would be fabulous to visit, so if you have time to duck over there...is King Island. Think of all that gorgeous brie and their fresh cream. I picture a log fire, bottles of wine, crusty bread, and lotsa fresh brie!smitten

Hey, I hope you have a good time

All the best places have been mentioned... but if you intend to stay in Hobart... Stay at Hadleys... the oldest Hotel in Tas. built by convicts and has huge huge rooms with sep toilets..

Good luck..

Lived in Tassie for 30yrs I loved it. Hobarts Salamanca place Market on sat mornings a must. But what the hell are doing going in the worst month. It can be a bit grim can you change it ??? The summers on the North West Coast are magical, perfect weather
day in day out high twenties no humidity.

On the plus side go up the Mountain overlooking Hobart you might be lucky and get to play in the snow. All the way up there is so pretty,no good going to the Bicheno and such they close up for the winter so nothing to do.

Hobart is the place to spend time at, it reminds me of pics of Monarco.Should have a few thing to keep you busy Oh drive down the Huon very pretty in fact most of interesting things are Hobart way.

Do not like Launceston so if you would like to do something there... do it going down or coming back to the ferry.
Lived at Devonport most of the time loved it very quiet and laid back.
I am sure though you will find something to keep yourselves busy just plan ahead.

Stay in the chalet rather than the huts... JMO... although I stayed in a hut.. I say that cos every five mins we went to the chalet for something or rather.. I took my two boys with me, they wanted to be in the hub of things.. there is a lake you can fly fish if you want... at the time, in Cradle Mountain, there were 6hr horse rides thru the rainforest, and we did that, also canoe trip... my boys did absailing.. forget it, I didn't, but at the chalet you watch while they feed the tassie devils.. lil critters.. quite angry lil things.. Also, that is were the communal kitchen is... you will love it... I have never forgotten it neither has my boys. bouquet wave wave
