Which "god"? There are thousands. And all have equally compelling evidence for their existence.

If you are referring solely to your own pet mythology, you'll have to provide a name. The noun, "god", isn't a name.

I'm a bit like stressfree in that I've changed my ideas a lot over time. At the moment I don't think there is a god because if there was a god he/she'd have to be both all-powerful and all good as that's what people think a god is, but the evidence of the planet suggests that if he was all powerful he'd just stop all the bad things happening ie wars, famines, human corruption, etc, but the fact that these things exist show he can't be all powerful. If he could stop them but chooses to allow them to occur under the guise of giving humans free-will, then he can't be all good, as he's allowing evil to occur. Consequently, there can't be such a thing as a god and belief in such a thing is only deluded self comfort, which is ok by me if it doesn't harm or control others. Sadly, most religions do both, due to human twistedness

My perception of the word "God" is, it is a name used by humans all over the world to describe a power bigger than ourselves that we are unable to see, yet still feel it exists. Whether we're church goers or not, we all have the free will to have our own interpretation of what and who God is without judging others or being judged by others (this is what i think causes all the power struggles - the - "I'm right-you're wrong attitude).

My own understanding and belief is that "God" is pure positive energy and "Satan" is pure negative energy. We learn this concept on a physical level when introduced to the forever popular science experiment involving magnets and how magnetic fields function as part of our early science education.

On an emotional level, I use the concept of negative and positive to cope with life experiences. This helps me to make sense of it all and puts things back into perspective. I've often heard people say in times of crisis "if there is a God then why is he doing this" and i always respond by saying "I don't believe this crisis comes from a positive source but I've certainly used positive energy in my thinking to get me through it and it's made me stronger.

In a nut shell i believe "God" to be - Love, Compassion, Empathy, Kindness, Joy, Strength, Laughter, Nurture and all things positive and "Satan" to be - Fear, Jealous, Cruel,Intimidating, Apathetic, Sad, Weak, Destructive and all things negative.

Unfortunately (just look at nature) you can't have one without the other, and our challenge is to steer clear of the pitfalls by understanding the dark so we can work more productively with the light.

At the end of the day it all boils down to choice and each and every one of us has the free will to decide what we believe and how it is interpreted...
