I cant help but wonder why on earth people use silicone as enhancement of body-parts. Can anybody please set me straight on the subject.

because society has presented these far out ideals of what is beautiful, and most people dont have that naturally, so in their insecurity they undergo surgery to conform to whats considered beautiful!

im honestly against plastic surgery, as most people do it for stupid/wrong reasons. if someone were deformed, i can understand, but other than that, women and men alike need to learn to appreciate their unique beauty.

i do.. i got small t and a and i'm darn proud! lol, i could rant on this subject forever

Silicone is no different than makeup, hair wigs, diets, and the 100's of other things some do to themselves because either they like it for themselves and else they think it will be liked by others. If it makes them happy I don't care one way or the other. I do not judge others for what they do! Hell I do some weird things myself.

laugh Yes ! We all do things to us that are questionable but with silicone it is a bit permanent and costly. Then there is the medical question that can be dangerous at times.

And for those that have done this if there are any that will say. Has the intended "gain" come into light ? Is it better afterwards then it was before ?

I see you have an opinion on this. There are countless number of women who have had breast implants and love them. That should not be questioned at all. Additionally, cost is a matter of whether it matters to the person or not. Many would rather do this than going on a cruise. Lastly, I think the dangers have been overstated in the news. We hardly ever hear about issues with breast implants due to most of them are not done with silicone anymore.

It is my understanding that the majority of breast implants today use saline-filled bags.

It's a combination of insecurity, too much money sitting around and feeling the pressure of society (need to look perfect, a size 0 or 2) in order to get the looks.
Other than wanting to lose a bit of weight, I'm fine with how I am. If someone doesn't like how I look without the extra enhancements, that's their problem.
