I'd feel vioalated, and I'd be angry, but I know someone on another site who was viewed and mailed by someone who just did not add up. He googled the name and it had been stolen with the pic and details from facebook.
It is ilegal and you should report it, NOT feel flattered by it, thats just odd, and alittle dangerous. This is the internet, they can get your details along with your pic! I really hope you were joking in the 'flattered' thing!

You do get some people who are barely recognisable as human.
I certainly didn't feel flattered by it...but i'm a professional philosopher so I...pondered a little and confronted them.
As yet I have still to hear back...typical troll.

Yeah I never thought about that actually. I'm thinking I better do something urgent to get the profile deleted. If thats possible even.

Ah, just report the fake profile with your pic on it to the other sites staff. There must be a "contact us" section on there somewhere. Then forget all about it 
As for you having all this sorted and thinking you're safe to post a pic on here or any other site... it won't happen. They'll always be scammers and people that use other peoples pictures for their own ends.
If you're that worried then best to keep no photo uploaded on your profile or take a pic of you in disguise
