Hi K,
When a Long Distant Relationship lasts 9 years that does say a lot about both parties involved.

There is another thread about falling in love at first sight. her and I became friends chatting online and didn't even see a picture of the other for the first 6 months. Then we met for the first time one year after that. So yes the relationship has grown, matured, and evolved for nine years.

Her children are over 18 now, my daughter is 13 so who knows what is going to happen next, or when it will happen.

Love takes time. Yes falling in love at first sight could happen, however there's more to love than looks alone.

that is amazing how you two made it work like you have.. i admire that..

and i'm sure you know abt my relationship w/ matt (niceguy78) who i met on here.. spent the summer up in canada w/ him.. and now i am currently in the process of transferring to another school so that i can be w/ him.. we have taken every step very very carefully.. spending the summer w/ him was a huge step for me.. but it was the best summer of my life and i definately know w/out a doubt he is the one for me.. and you are right.. you do have to be careful abt internet dating bc there might not be the same chemistry in person that there is online or the phone.. i was afraid of that.. and i'm so happy that we still have that unbelievable chemistry.. but i'm one of the lucky ones..

well i wish you the best of luck in your relationship and i know how you feel about long distance.. it is harder than anything i've ever done

Hi Mike,

I'm "L", not "K". Hang in there - she is worth it and so are you.

Yes, I also wish you both the best of luck. Although as you would know luck only plays a small part, the rest is determination.

Hi Mike,

I suspected that the "L"/"K" "thing" was a "keyboad issue". I just had to make sure! Anyway - you should hang on to that woman.

Mike you are one of a kind ... i was reading your post and with every saying word i felt myself more relaxed and happier

Now ... I do not know her ... and i DO know who and what you are... so my feeling is You are the Keeper ... and you are amazing human being.

No matter what is waiting for two of you in a future ... those 9 years were a Life lesson and answers on Life questions ... And these is for REAL.
Hugs Mike and be well

Thanks

Are you still with her?
I thought I was afraid of committment, but maybe long distance is the way to go. That way I could have my space !

Hi Susie,

A long distance relationship might be very good for you. It is a very good way to have a good friend and no one will be in "your space".

Best Wishes,

L.

Yes Susie we are still involved. 10 years come June 2007. Having your own space is a good thing because you won't have to answer to the other, you won't have to listen to the whining, and you won't have to judge or be judged. What we have done is communicate, understand, and above all else "Let it go" when one does something or says something that the other doesn't understand or agree with simply because we are only human and things happen.

BUT

Not touching for days, weeks, months, sometimes years is a very hard lesson in ones own strengths and commitments.
