Drive, that is; get your mind out of the gutter. How far would you drive (one way) to meet a CSer for a date, say, dinner? An hour? More? Less? Would it matter if you knew they were driving much farther themself to meet you? (Keep in mind that after dinner chances are you'd be driving home alone the same distance.)

I would go about 200 mile max I guess, we would have to chat on the phone for a bit, maybe a few emails between time just to make sure there is proof of life for one, and you can actually learn alot by phone, personality comes out alot through voice and great verbal communication, applause

Commuter train, possibly? Use your imagination. Imagine you do drive.

I was joking, well not about the being unable to drive. I don´t mind travelling to meet someone, I adore travelling, that´s all I´ve done for the past 11 years, and if the date didn´t work out I´d find something else to occupy my time and still enjoy myself.

I´ve found thát it´s the men who are more unwilling to travel. No sense of adventure! laugh However, most of my online dates have been quite local and 50/50 on the travelling to meet.

The farthest I have ever driven for a first-time meet with someone I'd previously only "known" online and on the phone, was just over 160 miles. But that was familiar terrain-- I wouldn't do it here in a new state where all of the roads are unfamiliar, and I don't know anyone.

160 miles? Quite a ways. Sorry to grasp that it apparently did not work out. Hope the dinner was worth it.

It worked out for a while. It was not a one-time thing. But the distance would continue to be an issue, of course.... so... bit silly of me really!laugh

I would go as far as the moon and back for the right lady.Anything further out in the solar system i would have to give serious consideration - gas expenses, evening wear on other planets etc.drinking

I think it's only fair to produce an expense report on an out of Earth date! I would probably add some air additives in there, sometimes they can be expensive wink

Meet you halfway? In the middle of traffic? That's a tough sell.

I don't date! But if I would, driving there would not be an issue ( given that I drive 40 min only to get my groceries, what's a 4 hours drive to have a dinner date...)
I am a bit ticked off though when the man doesn't have a car so he's not able to reciprocate the act.....in that case, it would not work. To reach me, they would need to use a car, boat, helicopter or any other means apart from the public transportation....which is brilliantly nonexistent. dunno laugh
